In 2023, many decided to leave their usual places and go in search of new adventures. While not all new locations can boast comfort and style, in our selection we will present only those projects that will satisfy even the most demanding designers. The main theme of our article is the harmonious combination of design and space. We will consider successful examples where aesthetics and functionality find a perfect balance, creating unique and attractive interiors that can inspire and surprise.

M-To-N Restaurant: A Journey Through Time and Space

M-To-N Restaurant, located in the picturesque Hamptons, was founded by a former pilot who lost his job due to the pandemic. This establishment is inspired by the golden age of air travel in the 1950s, when air travel was considered a true art. At that time, the concept of "economy class" did not exist, and every service was accompanied by white starched tablecloths and exquisite dishes. The M-To-N restaurant offers a unique experience, combining elements of aviation culture and haute cuisine, making it the perfect destination for true gourmets and travel enthusiasts.

Pop & Pac studio began developing the original design of the menu, wine glass coasters, and coffee glasses. The designers took into account elements of the existing interior, where the image of an airplane is the central theme. This approach ensures a harmonious blend of new design solutions with the overall concept of the space, creating a unique atmosphere for visitors.

The design was inspired by the classic Super Constitution in-flight guides, where palm trees and the Statue of Liberty serve as symbols of Miami and New York. On the back, the designers depicted aircraft wings from the era, and the cover is made of genuine leather with cutouts for illustrations. This approach not only highlights the uniqueness of the design but also creates an atmosphere that immerses you in the history of aviation and the cultural symbols of these cities.

M-To-N is more than just a restaurant; it's a unique space for an unforgettable evening in a pleasant atmosphere. We also have a coffee shop where you can grab your favorite drink to go. We've updated our standard cups, which are now painted in calming tones: blue, gray, and brown, harmoniously complementing our logo. M-To-N offers the perfect combination of gastronomic art and a cozy atmosphere, making it a great choice for meeting friends or romantic evenings.

Barraquer Ophthalmology Center: Innovation in Medical Navigation

Located in the center of Barcelona, the Barraquer Ophthalmology Center is one of the leading clinics in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of eye diseases. In conjunction with recent renovations, the clinic has upgraded its wayfinding system with new black signage. These changes will not only improve visibility but also give the facility a more modern and stylish look, underscoring its high standards of care and commitment to innovation in ophthalmology.

Forma & Co, a studio specializing in innovative design solutions, created unique pictograms based on a stencil version of the Futura typeface. This typeface was chosen for the specific needs of medical facilities: its minimalist and clear design facilitates easy information comprehension, especially for those with visual impairments. All navigation elements are large, ensuring clarity and legibility. These solutions significantly improve user experience and make navigation through a medical facility more accessible.

The Memorial Museum of Terrorism: A Symbol of Memory and Hope

The Memorial Museum of Terrorism in Surens is scheduled to open in 2027. Designed by Studio Graphéine, this project aims to perpetuate the memory of the victims of terrorism both in France and abroad. The museum will be housed in a historic building that formerly served as the École Plein-Air, built in 1934 by architects Eugène Baudouin and Marcel Lods. The memorial museum will be an important cultural and educational center where visitors can learn about the consequences of terrorism and the importance of peace and security.

Graphéine's designers set themselves the important task of developing new visual codes that would avoid aggressive media images that could evoke negative emotions and shock. One of the key elements of their work was a logo consisting of three monolithic blocks. This symbol embodies the resilience and recovery of both victims and society as a whole after terrorist attacks. This approach allows for the creation of a more positive and resilient visual language that helps strengthen public spirit and maintain hope in challenging times.

The logo is designed using the Next typeface, designed by Ludovic Balland. Inspired by constructivism and humanism, the design of this font harmoniously complements the building's architectural style and reflects the museum's mission. It focuses on the desire for recovery and hope for a better future, which is an important part of the museum's concept.
