Arina fell in love with the "fainting frog" shade, which became popular not only among her, but also among her friends. This unique color attracts attention and sparks interest, making it a desirable choice for many.
Arina chose a modular grid for the book's design, which allowed her to divide the pages into neat columns. This made the presentation of information more structured and easier to read. This layout also left room for atmospheric photographs that pair perfectly with each color. Evgeniya Berezhnaya, a renowned graphic designer and art director, was named "Designer of the Year" at the 2024 Sreda festival. Her unique Kinesics typeface is a revolutionary combination of improvisational choreography and graphic design. Each letter of this typeface expresses emotions conveyed through the language of dance, demonstrating the interaction of the human body and soul in movement. This font not only attracts attention but also inspires designers and artists around the world, emphasizing the importance of the connection between art and emotional expression.



Contemporary dance has been a part of my life since early childhood, and I always dreamed of combining this passion with graphic design. This is how the Kinesics project was born – a unique combination of art and graphics, an experiment exploring new possibilities of visual expression through movement and form.
Each of the 26 letters of the font was created in unique locations around the city, making the project an ode to my hometown. All movements used in creating the letters were improvised, which gives each letter emotional depth and individuality. This project not only demonstrates artistic expression but also highlights my connection with the city that has become my home.
Improvisation played a key role in my dance process. I didn't plan every movement in advance, but I had reference points for each letter that served as the basis for creating the dance structure. This approach allowed me to convey genuine emotion and mood through each letter, making the performance more expressive and profound.
The project shaped a unique style and atmosphere. I emphasized naturalness in both the movement and the visual representation of the font. By avoiding unnecessary graphic elements, I tried to preserve the essence and highlight the important aspects of the design. This allowed me to create a harmonious and holistic perception, reflecting the main ideas of the project.
Zhenya sent me examples of animations using tracking technology and asked about the possibility of implementing them. This presented a new challenge for me, as my experience is mainly in 3D graphics. I began studying the principles of tracking and its application to animation to understand how I could adapt my knowledge to create high-quality content.
After thorough research, I helped her create her first video, which turned out to be inspiring. Now we need to develop a similar animation for each letter of the alphabet.
At the beginning of the project, I had doubts and considered giving up due to lack of confidence. However, thanks to the team's combined efforts, we successfully completed the task.

Polina shares her thoughts: "The main idea of the book is the isolation and seclusion of Snezhinsk. For many residents of this city, such isolation has become a familiar reality. However, for those encountering information about Snezhinsk for the first time, the topic raises many questions and curiosity."
Polina aims to show the city through the prism of personal experience, bypassing stereotypes about life without modern conveniences such as shopping malls and fast food restaurants. Her project aims not only to inform but also to create a deep connection with the reader, allowing them to experience the atmosphere of life in a city where all key places are within close proximity. This approach helps to reveal the unique aspects of urban life and draw attention to lesser-known, yet significant corners.
The city's isolation is an important, but not the only, motif in the book. The author strives to depict not only family memories, but also the inner world of Snezhinsk during a period when the entire country was inaccessible to outsiders. This isolation created a unique atmosphere in which people's destinies developed and special relationships were formed. The work focuses on how the city's isolation affected its inhabitants, their lives, and their thinking, revealing the depth and diversity of human emotions and experiences in a context of confinement.
Developing the book's layout was a challenging task for Polina. She faced an internal conflict, trying to balance openness with the need to preserve the intimacy of personal information. Polina considered various options, including extravagant ideas such as using customized tape to physically restrict access to the book's contents. This process was not only a creative challenge for her but also an important step in understanding the boundaries of personal information and its presentation in public space.
Polina chose the path of openness, deciding to display family photographs and urban scenes. This decision fostered harmony between the personal and the public. By eliminating text and marginalia, she left only temporary captions to the frames, allowing the visuals to become the main content of the book. This approach not only enhances emotional perception but also transforms each photograph into a standalone narrative, immersing the reader in an atmosphere of life and memories.
The final chapter of the book represents the culmination of the project, in which the great-grandfather's memoirs are harmoniously intertwined with his photographs. In this section, the camera, which previously captured important events, addresses the cameraman himself, giving the book a special finality and enhancing the emotional depth of the content. This approach allows readers not only to learn about the author's life journey but also to see it through his eyes, making the ending especially meaningful and memorable.

Anastasia did not delve into the study of Hebrew, as explicit references to Hebrew script were only necessary for one of the eighteen illustrations. Instead, she focused on the visual perception of letters as design elements, which enabled her to develop unique graphic solutions in Cyrillic. This approach allowed her to combine traditional and modern elements, creating original works that attract attention and engage viewers.
Petrova was wary of freely handling the source material, but overcame her fears through effective collaboration with the editor, art director, and author. The Kurlyk brand is based on the image of a dove, a symbol of the urban environment. Doves are inextricably linked to the urban atmosphere and are often found in zoos, making this choice especially meaningful. We strive to convey the spirit of the city and its unique nature in our brand, using associations with this universal bird.

BBKV Diadomine Font: New Horizons in Typography
The BBKV Diadomine font is a unique artistic solution developed by the Bureau of Typefaces. This serif font with expressive drops is a modern interpretation of the serif typeface, conveying elegance and playfulness. Creating the Diadomine font was a real challenge for the designers. We wanted to create something elegant that would echo our previous project, Editorial, but at the same time introduce unique elements. As a result, some letters acquired unusual drop shapes, which became a symbol of our font, emphasizing its individuality and aesthetic value.
Defining the shape of the drop shapes was one of the most challenging stages of the font's development. Initial sketches did not feature drop shapes; later, they were implemented in a square form, which looked quite unusual. Currently, the designers continue to work on the final forms, and in the future, two versions of the font may be offered. This process requires careful consideration to achieve harmony between aesthetics and legibility, a key aspect in creating a high-quality font.
Created with modern trends in mind, the Diadomine font has found application in a wide variety of industries, including cosmetics, jewelry, and social media. Designers are confident that this font can surprise with its versatility in more unexpected areas, opening up new possibilities for creative expression and branding.

Kristina Polomoshnova, a student at the HSE School of Design, has created a unique calendar-diary for 2025, aimed at supporting people caring for loved ones suffering from Alzheimer's disease. This innovative project eliminates the days of the week, allowing users to focus on the present moment. Instead, tabs contain the names of months and dates, making it easier to organize time and avoid confusion. This calendar will be a useful tool for those who want to preserve important moments and ease everyday worries.

The yellow color used in the calendar design represents warm memories of moments spent together. Christina sought to support people facing difficult life situations and help them understand that there is nothing terrible about it. This approach helps create an atmospheric space where everyone can find support and inspiration to overcome difficulties.
Each photograph in the project tells a unique story and was carefully selected from the author's personal archive. Christina strove to avoid turning her project into social commentary. Her goal was to express sincere feelings and experiences associated with the topic, creating an atmosphere of deep emotional connection. This approach allows viewers to see the topic from a new perspective, experiencing the true essence and significance of each image.
Working on the project proved more challenging for Christina than she expected. Although she initially recognized the complexity of the topic, delving into the material and the layout process demonstrated the importance of conveying information in a way that is accessible and easily digestible for readers. This understanding prompted her to carefully craft her content to ensure maximum clarity and audience friendliness.
Personal experience interacting with someone suffering from dementia gave Christina a deeper understanding of the problem. However, her in-depth study of Alzheimer's disease revealed many nuances she had previously been unaware of. Christina was struck by how this disease dramatically alters the perception of the world around her and impacts patients' daily lives. Understanding these aspects is important for developing the right attitude towards people suffering from dementia and for providing them with the necessary support.
Alzheimer's disease is a progressive disease that in its later stages leads to the loss of not only memory but also the ability to fully communicate. While it is possible to slow the progression of the disease with regular practice and support, unfortunately, there is no complete cure. Christina realized the importance of not focusing on the negative aspects of the disease, although they opened up new horizons of understanding for her. At the same time, understanding the problem helps find ways to improve the quality of life for both the patient and their loved ones.
Kristina Polomoshnova, a graphic designer, emphasizes the importance of thorough preliminary research and collaboration with experts from various fields when working on a project. Although this is an academic assignment, the key aspect is not only creating a visually appealing product but also providing an innovative approach to solving the problem. This comprehensive approach allows for a deeper understanding of the topic and a higher level of quality in the final result.
The students' primary goal is to develop skills in managing uncertainty and solving complex problems, as well as the ability to accept responsibility and adequately assess their capabilities. When developing an artistic concept, artists strive to integrate their ideas into the surrounding environment. What can one observe in Russian courtyards? Here you can see clotheslines with clothespins, cigarette butts left next to benches, and bright yellow gas pipes. However, the central element of this space are pigeons, which appear in a variety of forms, inspired by the popular meme about nest building. These elements not only reflect everyday life but also create a unique atmosphere, emphasizing the relationship between humans and nature in the urban environment.
The graffiti created in this location attracted the attention of local residents who actively oppose feeding pigeons. This coincidence is interesting, as while working on the art project, we noticed numerous notices urging people to refrain from feeding these birds. This juxtaposition of art and local initiatives highlights the cultural and social aspects of life in the area.
Oleg Pavlov, one of the graffiti artists, emphasized the importance of street art: “Our goal is to demonstrate that graffiti can serve not only as a means of protest, but also as an art form that can transform the urban landscape and lift the spirits of its residents.”
