Nap Lab Research by Superdesigners
The Superdesigners team conducted a unique study dedicated to the phenomenon of inspiration that often occurs during the transition period between sleep and awakening. At this time, a special creative spark emerges, and insights into pressing issues arise. However, the question arises: should we trust these spontaneous ideas as much as those that arise through long and arduous work? The study emphasizes the importance of recognizing the value of both instantaneous insights and working on long-term projects. Understanding this balance can significantly enhance creativity and improve the quality of ideas. The ideas were visualized using computer graphics. A calm and minimalist interior, generated by artificial intelligence, became the backdrop for the dynamic presentation of fantasy elements. These elements represent creative thoughts that arise spontaneously and unpredictably, often remaining elusive and difficult to comprehend. Imagination truly is a powerful source of inspiration, capable of sparking new ideas and stimulating the creative process. A letterer is a specialist in the art of creating letters and fonts. He uses a variety of techniques and tools for text design, lending uniqueness and expressiveness to various projects. Lettering can involve both handwriting and digital processing, allowing for the creation of original logos, headlines, and other design elements.
Lettering artists employ a variety of styles and approaches to highlight the individuality of a brand or project. They can work with acrylic paints, markers, brushes, and other materials, creating both traditional and modern fonts. Lettering is actively used in advertising, product packaging, event decoration, and web design.
The use of lettering in design helps attract attention and convey a mood, as well as distinguish a project from competitors. In a modern world where visual communication plays a key role, lettering is becoming an essential tool for creating memorable content.
Arseniy shared his experience creating lettering for a project. When he began work, the video was in its final stages, leaving very little time for the creative process. This circumstance compelled him to act quickly and efficiently. As a result, the nature of the work was captured at first glance: the letters were quickly sketched on paper, and the mood was captured from the very first lines. This approach to lettering allowed him to create an expressive and dynamic visual series that fit harmoniously into the overall context of the project.
Arseniy claims that the best ideas arise from the first impression, which he captures in a sketch. In graffiti, there is a term "throw up", which refers to quickly executed, almost "inflatable" letters drawn in a single line. He believes that this style is the most effective and reflects the essence of his work. Using such methods allows for the rapid conveyance of emotions and ideas, which makes graffiti a unique art form capable of capturing attention and conveying meaning instantly.
In this project, the solution was found on the first try, which is not always the case. Arseniy noted that he often gets ideas while half asleep, and constructive thoughts come when he falls asleep or wakes up, thinking about unfinished tasks. This experience highlights the importance of creative thinking and the ability to generate ideas in the most unexpected situations.

The church photo was taken at a quiet time—Saturday afternoon. At that moment, the streets of Copenhagen were almost empty, as many residents were spending their day off by the water, creating a unique atmosphere for the photographer. Copenhagen is magnificent at any time of year, and this moment is proof of that. The sunlight highlighted the architectural details of the church, and the lack of human bustle allowed me to focus on each frame.


Identity for the Velikiye cafe by Holystick studio
Holystick studio announced its new project: an original visual style and website design for the Moscow cafe Velikiye. The corporate typography is based on the Next font, which harmoniously combines elements of a rough style, evoking associations with the past and the future. This unique design approach emphasizes the café's individuality and creates an inviting atmosphere for visitors. The new website is not only visually appealing but also functional, allowing users to easily find the information they need and place orders.
The identity of the Velikiye café embodies a passion for experimentation and emphasizes the uniqueness of each guest's aspirations, whether large or small. This project emphasizes the importance of detail and an emotional connection with visitors, creating an atmosphere in which everyone feels valued. The Velikiye café strives to ensure that every element of design and service contributes to an unforgettable experience for its guests.
Mila Silenina, partner at Holystick Studio, emphasized: "We are pleased to see Holystick approached with projects that offer opportunities for experimentation, irony, and a touch of humanity. We believe that people love stories, and we strive to create projects that are interesting to talk about." These principles formed the foundation of the "Great" project.
The café team approached us shortly before opening, when neither the name nor the identity had yet been developed. The first café shared the same space with a cycling club, and the team sought to create a unique culinary experience, making the name "Great" particularly appropriate. We developed a concept and visual identity that would highlight the originality and creativity of the dishes offered and attract the attention of the target audience.
The identity of small gastronomic projects should reflect the individuality of their creators. The opening of a café is often tied to a personal story, and our goal is to highlight this through graphic language. We focus on the authenticity and uniqueness of each project to create a recognizable visual style that will resonate with customers and convey the true voice of the establishment.


Ulyana Polnyakova's Innovative Font for the Maritime Museum of Knots
Ulyana Polnyakova, an outstanding student of the HSE School of Art and Design, presented her original decorative font called Node. This font features unique graphics inspired by the loops of nautical ropes, making it an excellent choice for a variety of themed projects. Node is ideal for nautical-themed designs and for creating accents in visual communications.
Ulyana, a student at the HSE School of Art and Design, shares her experience creating a font. Research in this area proved quite challenging. Initially, she planned for the letters to follow the patterns exactly, but this resulted in an overloaded graphic. As a result, using knotted laces from her favorite sneakers didn't live up to expectations. Ultimately, the final result became more concise and harmonious.
Creating the letters "Д", "Б", and "Т" was one of the most challenging tasks for Ulyana. She notes that the letter "Д" had difficulties with the ascenders, and it took her a long time to find an acceptable solution. Even the final version doesn't completely satisfy her. In the letters "Б" and "Т", the main problem was the upper strokes, which are difficult to integrate into graphics without straight horizontals.
Ulyana believes that her font has universal qualities, despite its narrow focus on branding. "The first thing that came to my mind was the possibility of developing an identity for a noodle shop," she shares. "This font could be an excellent tool for creating a unique visual style that will attract customers and highlight the establishment's individuality."

Rebranding of the Lorena factory: a new look from Suprematika
The Lorena factory, located in the Urals, is famous for its traditional approach to furniture production. In a modern environment where individuality is becoming a key aspect, Suprematika developed a new visual style. The designers integrated the symbolism of an ironic flower, which represents "happiness as a gift," with vibrant colors, representing the "sea of happiness" that customers receive with updated interiors. This harmony of tradition and modernity makes Lorena furniture unique and in demand.
Vladimir Lifanov, Art Director of Suprematika, shared his experience working on the project. He emphasized that in this task, it was important not only to develop the concept but also to convince the client of its feasibility. A compelling idea plays a key role in the successful implementation of a project, allowing for the achievement of goals and meeting the client's expectations.
Vladimir visited Miass, where the Lorena factory is located, in autumn to present the new style. This city, surrounded by forests and devoid of bright colors, provided a contrast to the fresh concept. "This morning, I saw a Lorena bus transporting workers to the factory. Its vibrant wrapping brought life and color to the gray city atmosphere," Lifanov noted. The new design emphasizes the company's commitment to innovation and vibrancy, which is especially important in such a quiet and peaceful place.
Some may wonder how such a decision was made in a conservative market segment. Lifanov is confident that persuasiveness played a key role. He notes that he managed to convey to the factory owner that a naive flower and Armenfilm-style animation can be sincere and appealing. A respectable image can combine not only pathos but also irony, making it more relatable and relatable to the audience.
This passion and confidence were transmitted to the management and sales team, laying the foundation for the successful implementation of the new style. Inspired by a common goal, employees were able to effectively adapt to changes and achieve high sales results.

This lollipop will not only delight you with its exquisite taste but will also become a true symbol of Ryazan craftsmanship. Each cockerel is hand-made, preserving ancient recipes and techniques. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the fair and discover a world of sweets filled with joy and warmth.
Ildar Garifullin, a talented designer and photographer, presented a series of bright images of multi-colored lollipops, created as part of an educational design project. These photographs stand out for their uniqueness, as they were taken with an iPhone 14 Pro smartphone, rather than a professional camera. This approach highlights the capabilities of modern mobile devices in photography and demonstrates how high-quality images can be created with affordable technology.
Ildar Garifullin, a designer and photographer, strives to convey emotion and atmosphere through his work. He created photographs for the identity concept of the festival at the Ryazan Lollipop Museum. Using macro photography, Ildar emphasizes texture and taste, visually conveying these sensations through his images. His works allow viewers to not only see but also feel the atmosphere of the festival, making each photograph unique and memorable.
The shooting process was carried out using an iPhone in macro mode, which ensured high-quality images in RAW format. This allowed for detailing the photographs in Photoshop during post-processing. The shooting was done against a white background using two table lamps. One of the lamps was additionally equipped with gel filters, which helped to accentuate the color and transparency of the lollipops. This approach produced vibrant and expressive images, ideal for use in advertising materials and on websites.
The reviews of Ildar's photographs are astounding. Many viewers note that his work is not only aesthetically pleasing but also evokes associations with high-quality products. Particularly noteworthy are the close-ups, which highlight the details of the cockerel's back and tail, lending them a sexy touch. Anastasia is a student at the HSE School of Art and Design who has shown an interest in Cyrillic from an early age. She notes: "I've always felt a love for Cyrillic." Images of dried vobla and smelt, as well as the atmosphere of fish markets, inspired the creation of her unique typeface. Anastasia strives to convey cultural characteristics and traditions through her work, using Cyrillic as the primary means of expression. Her approach to typeface design combines elements of modernity and tradition, making her project relevant and appealing to a wide audience.
The creation of Vobla was inspired by handwritten inscriptions often found in markets. Anastasia recalls how, as a child, she regularly visited markets with her family and carefully examined these letters. They were simple, yet possessed a unique charm that was remembered for years to come. This experience formed the basis for the Vobla design, which strives to convey the atmosphere and aesthetics of these unforgettable moments.
To create the font, the author conducted visual research, studying handwritten letters found in markets. "I tried to recreate them by hand, and then, together with curator Yaroslav Subbotin, we arrived at the final version, combining various elements and styles." This process resulted in a unique font design that reflects both traditional and contemporary trends.

Drinkit Identity by Ten Ten Ten: Visual Style for Digital Coffee Shops

This solution significantly improves the quality of service and makes the ordering process more efficient. By integrating modern technologies, Drinkit provides convenience and speed, which is especially important in urban conditions.
Ten Ten Ten Studio, together with talented specialists, created a unique visual language for the startup. The logo depicting a whale was adapted into a logomark system - an emoji alphabet, which is actively used in various visual communications of the brand. Innovative graphics were successfully integrated not only into marketing materials but also into the interior, designed by Kidz Studio. This approach allows the brand to stand out from the competition by creating a memorable and recognizable visual style that aligns harmoniously with the company's core values.
Artem Rulev and Rodion Serebrennikov are co-founders of Ten Ten Ten Studio, which specializes in developing visual identities for modern brands. New Naverh Gastrobar: Unique Interior by Line Design Studio
In 2023, Naverh Gastrobar opened in picturesque Svetlogorsk, Kaliningrad Oblast. Situated on a picturesque slope, the establishment offers stunning views of the Baltic Sea on three sides. Naverh Gastrobar offers a unique combination of signature cuisine and atmospheric design, making it an ideal place to relax and discover gastronomic delights. Thanks to its magnificent location and high-quality service, Naverh attracts both locals and tourists seeking new taste experiences in this picturesque corner of Russia.
The Line Design Studio team from Kaliningrad designed the interior, presenting this aesthetically pleasing case study in winter. Their professionalism and attention to detail made this project an outstanding example of contemporary design.

According to Smaznova, the concept of this space was developed with the aim of emphasizing the splendor of nature without detracting from its beauty. The interior is done in neutral tones, which creates a feeling of merging with the environment, highlighting the breathtaking views.
The project faced a number of challenges related to the structural features of the building. The gastrobar is located within a 42-meter elevator shaft supported by a 36-meter truss, which imposes restrictions on the permissible load. Therefore, all interior elements, including furniture and structures, were designed with an emphasis on lightness and minimalism. This approach allowed for the creation of a functional and aesthetically pleasing space that meets safety requirements and architectural features.
The creative approach to the solution was evident in the bar's central element—a concrete countertop, poured on-site in a special form created using a 3D printer. This method significantly reduced the countertop's weight and preserved its complex shape without seams, adding aesthetic appeal and improving functionality. 3D printing in interior design opens up new horizons for the creation of unique elements that emphasize the individuality of a space.
The designers paid special attention to the selection of materials that create a unique play of light. The use of dichroic elements and stainless steel allows for the reflection of celestial hues and changing weather conditions. This is especially striking at sunset, when the interiors are filled with amazing color metamorphoses. The correct combination of these materials not only enhances the aesthetics of the space but also creates an atmosphere conducive to an emotional perception of the surrounding environment.
Smaznova emphasizes: "We aim to convey the significance of our work not only for ourselves but also for society. Our creativity is a source of new emotions that we carry from one project to the next." Without these principles, it would be difficult for us to express ourselves and represent something truly important to the world.


New Look for Burger Records: Rebranding by Prizma
Design studio Prizma, founded by Dima and Anya Golub, has developed a new visual style for the Burger Records burger chain, which operates in both Novosibirsk and Phuket. The new branding combines elements of American nostalgia with modern trends, creating a unique look for the establishment. This fresh approach to design emphasizes Burger Records' individuality and attracts customers, providing a memorable experience. Anya Golub, creative partner at Prizma Studio, shared her thoughts on current branding trends. She noted that the team was inspired by nostalgia, which is actively permeating modern design. The primary source of inspiration was the 1960s and 1970s, when music was played on vinyl and life had simpler, more understandable forms. The studio's goal was to reinterpret this aesthetic, preserving the spirit of that era and adapting it to modern realities. This approach allows us to create unique brands that resonate with audiences and evoke positive emotions, which is especially important in today's marketplace. To create a unique brand identity, we used a font pairing that includes Mabry Pro and a custom font by Mark Blondie, specially developed for Burger Records. This font captures the concept of vinyl and evokes a sense of nostalgia, while the logo, designed in its style, visually resembles an animated equalizer. Mabry Pro was chosen for its unique duality: it combines sharpness and delicacy, creating a multi-layered emotional component in the design. This approach to font selection contributes to the creation of a memorable visual identity and strengthens the brand's positioning in the market. Our team, working remotely, successfully developed a high-quality product based on an in-depth analysis of the client, their history, and their target audience. We meticulously researched feedback and analyzed current industry trends. This method allows us to create unique visual styles, even for a burger joint on Mars. We pay attention to every detail to ensure that user expectations are met and the brand stands out from the competition.

The book "Russians in Africa": a unique view from Katya Yumasheva and ABCdesign

This publication combines deep philosophical reflections and poetic texts, forming an original context for understanding cultural exchange. The book not only deepens understanding of the interaction of different cultures but also emphasizes the importance of art discourse in the modern world.
The book was designed by the talented designer Katya Yumasheva, who shares her thoughts on the creation process. «The mood of this book is largely set by the display font CSTM Xprmntl 02 Bold. From the first sketches, it was clear that it reflects African aesthetics, combining elements of beauty and tradition,' she notes. The book's design emphasizes the uniqueness of the content and creates an atmosphere conducive to a deep perception of the text. Yumasheva emphasizes that one of the first versions of the layout used the CSTM Xprmntl Italic font, which turned out to be too bold and difficult to read. 'We decided to use only Bold, and this gave the design greater purity and focus on African motifs. This decision significantly improved the layout,' the designer notes. 'Over the course of a year and a half of developing the book, the designer faced a serious challenge - maintaining interest in the project despite the large volume of information. 'Unexpected elements were added during the layout, which made the process more exciting,' she shares her experience. These innovations not only diversified the visual design but also helped draw attention to the content, which was an important aspect of the project's successful completion.
The book's additional color, Pantone 805U, previously considered outdated, is ideal for conveying the brightness and warmth of the African sun. Yumasheva notes: "I always consider trends, but at the same time, I strive to ensure that the design is appropriate and functional. A well-designed product remains relevant for many years." This approach allows us to create in-demand solutions that resonate with consumers and remain on trend.

This project presented a significant challenge, as the client, operating in a traditionally conservative field, sought to update the visual style of their business. Thanks to creative solutions and modern approaches, Shriftovik was able to create a stylish and memorable image that reflects the company's innovative nature and its commitment to sustainable development.
The main task was to rethink the image of a company engaged in the maintenance and sale of industrial equipment in line with modern trends in beauty and fashion brands. As a result, a vibrant corporate identity concept was developed that combines fashion elements and motifs from children's toys. This new visual design not only distinguishes the company from competitors but also attracts the attention of the target audience, strengthening the brand and increasing its market appeal.
The project's lead designer, Alexandra Valuykina, shares her experience: "Initially, we thought that developing creative solutions for a business servicing waste recycling equipment would be a challenging task. However, during our conversations with Mikhail, the company's director, we realized he is open to new experiments. We began testing various ideas—from simple to more complex—to confirm our hypothesis about the client's flexibility. Fortunately, our intuition proved correct!
Font engineer Karina Kirillova shared the logo development process. The work began with the creation of a font, which became the basis for the logo. Since standard solutions did not meet the requirements, the decision was made to develop a unique display font. Initially, the logo looked more dynamic and included variable letters. However, as the work progressed, we came to the conclusion that such creativity might be excessive. As a result, a more static logo was created that retained the history and concept of our font. This combination of traditional and modern elements allowed us to achieve a harmonious design that reflects the brand's personality.
Polina Manskikh, 3D visualizer, shared her experience in searching for visual images for the corporate identity. She noted that she spent a long time searching for elements that could harmoniously complement the website design and other marketing materials. While researching Pinterest and specialized sites, Polina couldn't find suitable images that would align with current trends and capture the essence of the company. As a result, she had to create unique visualizations that successfully convey the brand's philosophy and values. An unexpected solution arose when I was given a press model to render. While working on it, Blender crashed, causing the model to take on an unusual state. I demonstrated this to the art director, and he immediately praised the result: "This is exactly what we needed!" Thus, we developed a unique visual style that formed the basis of our presentation and website. This case highlighted how unexpected moments in the work process can lead to creative solutions and original content.



IND Architects Website Update: Visual Transformations by VOSK
VOSK Studio, recognized for its innovative approach to design, was commissioned to develop an identity for the manufacturer of fiber cement panels Architone. The success of this project opened new horizons: the architectural firm IND Architects, impressed by the work of VOSK, decided to update its visual identity and website. This collaboration highlights the importance of quality design in the architectural field and demonstrates how successful projects can inspire change and improvement.
Vasily Podyadchikov, a partner at the studio, shares his vision of the process: "Our goal was to create a unique image that would reflect the diversity of IND Architects' services. This architectural firm has already established itself in the market thanks to numerous successful projects, and we sought to convey this diversity through visual solutions: from master plans to interiors and residential complexes."
The website design implements the concept of a modern digital archive, which provides a structured and convenient presentation of information. We emphasized the diversity of IND's work, creating an interface that allows users to quickly and easily find the information they need without having to leave the page. This approach improves the user experience and facilitates more effective interaction with content.
One of the key features of the new website is the dynamic presentation of content. Information cells slide in and out smoothly, providing users with convenient access to relevant content without the need for unnecessary actions. This improves the user experience and allows them to focus on important information without being distracted by navigation. Dynamic display makes the site more interactive and engaging, increasing the time users spend on pages.
Working with architects inspires VOSK. Each architectural firm has a unique style, and we strive to help them find and visualize it. Architecture is not just design; it is an art capable of transforming space and improving people's quality of life, notes Vasily Podyadchikov. This philosophy makes collaboration with architects especially important and meaningful for us. We believe that working collaboratively with architectural professionals leads to the creation of outstanding projects that harmoniously integrate with their surroundings.
In early 2024, IND Architects' new website became not only a platform for showcasing their projects but also an embodiment of the firm's philosophy focused on improving the environment and enhancing quality of life. The firm strives to create functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces that harmoniously integrate with the urban landscape. The new website highlights their commitment to sustainable architectural design and innovative solutions that create comfortable living and working conditions.



Identity for an exhibition dedicated to the development of jazz by designer Serafima Degtyareva
Serafima Degtyareva, a talented designer, developed a unique branding concept, which was recognized as one of the most striking works by World Brand Design. Her project designed an exhibition dedicated to the history of swing - a dynamic and rhythmic direction of jazz music, which made it a significant contribution to the cultural representation of this musical style.
The period from the 1920s to the 1940s is considered the golden era of jazz, when swing became popular as energetic dance music. For this exhibition, Serafima developed a unique accent typeface based on the characteristic alternation of long and short beats, emphasizing the rhythmic nature of swing. The graphic design also utilizes "silent" glyphs, adding a distinctive musical expressiveness to the typeface. This approach not only captures the spirit of the era but also makes the exhibition more appealing to visitors interested in the history of jazz and its cultural influence.
A designer is a professional who creates visual solutions for various projects. In their work, designers utilize creative approaches and modern technologies to develop graphics, interiors, web design, and other visual elements. Designers play a key role in shaping a brand's image, helping businesses stand out in the marketplace. Their task is not only to create aesthetically pleasing solutions but also to ensure functionality and user experience. Contemporary designers also actively use prototyping and 3D modeling tools, allowing them to realize even the most daring ideas. It's important for designers to continually learn and stay abreast of new trends in their field to remain competitive and offer relevant solutions to their clients.
As a music lover, I've always strived to discover new musical horizons. However, before starting this project, my knowledge of jazz was quite limited. During my research, I learned many interesting facts, including that jazz is a unique blend of African rhythms and harmony with European musical traditions. It's also worth noting that jazz encompasses over forty subgenres, confirming its diversity and richness. This genre continues to evolve, influencing numerous other musical styles and captivating listeners around the world.
Exhibition curator Leonid Slavin encouraged me to show greater freedom and boldness in my work. This inspiration became the basis for the creation of a unique musical canvas, made of typography and glyphs, which you can see at the current exhibition.
