Learn MoreBright Projects with a Summery Mood
In this review, we present projects filled with a summery mood and bright colors. Among them, a unique design for a fresh fruit and vegetable delivery service from Germany stands out, as well as the work of an Australian healthy food manufacturer. In addition, we will consider innovative projects presented at the Polish Poster Biennale and the Turkish Documentary Film Festival. These projects not only attract attention with their visual design but also highlight modern trends in design and ecology.
Designers from SEEQ Agency, based in Duisburg, developed a corporate identity for HeimatFrisch, a company that offers fresh fruit and vegetable delivery services. All products in the assortment are grown locally and include both familiar varieties and exotic ones, such as papaya and watermelon. HeimatFrisch emphasizes the quality and freshness of its products, which is emphasized in its new design, reflecting its closeness to nature and customer care. Eight vibrant colors were used in the design development process, creating a harmonious combination across the company's packaging, merchandise, advertising, and app. Each element is designed in a minimalist style, using no more than two colors per medium. This approach avoids visual clutter and makes information more user-friendly. Effective use of color contributes to brand recognition and a positive image of the company in the marketplace. The designers chose a minimalist style for the fruit and vegetable arranging, using simple and uncluttered designs. The exception was the papaya, which was presented as a photograph to highlight its uniqueness and create a visual accent. This approach allows products to stand out while keeping the design clean and modern.

Creative Branding: Giddy Citizen
Sydney-based Smack Band created an original visual identity for Giddy Citizen, a healthy food brand aimed at a youth audience. The main challenge was to transform the wellness concept into an engaging visual experience that conveys the playful essence of the company. The new design not only attracts attention but also promotes a positive brand image, fostering interest in a healthy lifestyle among young people.
To create an attractive design that would resonate with a younger audience, Smack Band designers used warm hues. These color schemes create an atmosphere of joy and lightness, evoking associations with summer days. Modern studio photography combined with vibrant illustrations by Eli Wilde emphasize the brand's relevance and freshness. This design approach fosters an emotional connection with the target audience and strengthens the company's image in the market.
One of the most creative approaches to branding was the visual representation of the name "Giddy" through objects. This word was interpreted using images of bubbles appearing in coffee or carbonated drinks. At the same time, "Citizen" represents a variety of fruits and vegetables, united into a single concept. This approach helps create a vibrant and memorable brand image that emphasizes its uniqueness and connection with its products.

27th International Poster Biennale: Innovations and Traditions
In 2023, the 27th International Poster Biennale in Warsaw presented a unique visual concept created by Oki Oki studio and designer Anna Wieluńska. The exhibition continues the tradition established by Wojciech Zamecnik's original logo, a purple blob framed by a jagged black oval. This event attracts the attention of specialists and art enthusiasts from around the world, highlighting the importance of poster art in contemporary design. The unique works of the participants demonstrate creativity and relevant social issues, making the Biennial an important platform for the exchange of ideas and inspiration. Curators Agata Klepka and Ola Olszewska chose a bright orange as the main color for the catalog. This rich hue became dominant, filling the cover and edge, drawing attention to the publication. Orange was also used throughout the exhibition, where it decorated the floor in front of each work, creating an effect of depth and emphasis. Thus, bright orange not only became the visual center of the catalog but also emphasized the uniqueness of the presented works. The unusual hanging of the works attracts particular attention. Many works are deliberately positioned crookedly or too close to the floor. This approach, employed by Oki Oki, emphasizes the uniqueness of each work and creates an interactive experience for the viewer. Some works in the catalog feature beveled corners or extend beyond the usual boundaries of perception, adding dynamism to the overall concept. This original design creates a unique atmosphere and promotes a deeper appreciation of the art.

Documentary Filmmaking in Turkey: Istanbul Documentary Days
Istanbul Documentary Days is an important documentary film festival in Turkey, which celebrated its 15th anniversary this year. The anniversary became not only a celebration of art, but also a platform for creative designers to showcase their talents. The festival's visual identity was developed by Fol Studio, renowned for its innovative solutions. The festival attracts audiences and industry professionals, promoting the development of documentary film and strengthening cultural ties.
This year, Fol Studio focused on typography, creating unique posters and booklets for the festival. Each letter of the festival's name is individually designed, creating a mosaic effect. In printed materials, the letters are combined into a single whole, and in videos, they dynamically alternate, forming the festival's name. This vibrant video was shown on the busiest streets of Istanbul, attracting the attention of passersby and creating a unique festive atmosphere.
One of the festival's key design techniques is the "fragmentation" of letters. The full festival name can only be seen by combining several tickets, each of which displays only a portion of the letters. This creative approach not only attracts attention but also actively engages viewers in the process of interacting with the festival, creating a unique experience and emphasizing its originality.

Back to Basics: Art and Dynamics
Contemporary artists Tony Lopez and Zara Castellanos from Barcelona, working in the Retoka studio, continue to amaze viewers with their new projects in which they experiment with color, light, and form. Their latest works offer an exciting visual experience, successfully combining minimalism and dynamism. These artists explore the boundaries of perception, creating unique installations that capture attention and inspire. Their work reflects contemporary artistic trends and is an important part of Barcelona's cultural scene.
For this project, the artists developed a series of ten square images based on simple geometric shapes that create a sense of movement. The dynamism is achieved through sharp gradients of shapes against a background with smooth transitions, drawing attention and enlivening the visual perception of the space. Such compositions are not only visually appealing but also capable of transforming the atmosphere of an interior, adding a modern and dynamic character.
Lopez and Castellanos recommend using their works in minimalist interiors to create vibrant accents and dynamism. This approach allows for a refreshing space and a unique atmosphere, highlighting the elegance of minimalist design. Using their work in the interior not only adds visual interest but also helps create a harmonious combination with other decorative elements, making the space more expressive and memorable.
