Alexander Brodsky inspires artists by creating a two-story pavilion from his blocks. Evgeny Ozzik presents a collection of porcelain panels decorated with housing and communal services graffiti. In addition, PO-2 exists in the form of concrete souvenirs and metal badges, which emphasizes its uniqueness and significance in contemporary art. These works demonstrate a variety of approaches to the use of materials and forms, bringing fresh ideas to the world of design and art.

The PO-2 fence slabs, developed by Soviet designer Boris Lakhman in the 1970s, are unique architectural panels. The official name of these fencing elements reflects their functional purpose. Lakhman noted in an interview that the panel was designed with a relief pattern that creates a play of light and shadow, making fences installed in long rows less monotonous. He received numerous awards for his work, and in the 1980s, PO-2 slabs became especially popular. During this period, Lakhman emigrated to America, but his creation continues to be relevant and in demand. PO-2 fence slabs are used not only for fencing territories, but also as an element of landscape design, which emphasizes their versatility and aesthetic value.

The Instagram account typepo2 is run by Vasily, a young urbanist who specializes in data analysis and research in the field of improvement and transport planning. On a page dedicated entirely to PO-2, he collects photographs of fences from all over the country. He takes most of the pictures himself, but also accepts submissions from his subscribers. There are strict requirements for the photographs: they must be square in format and taken from the front. This ensures high-quality content and helps create the page's unique visual style.

Our collection features examples from both large cities like Moscow, Yekaterinburg, and Vladivostok, as well as remote villages. When over a hundred photographs are collected in one place, it becomes clear how differently a seemingly identical object can appear. It is repainted, expanded, and integrated into the surrounding landscape. For example, you can see a fence entwined with barbed wire and a fence with a door cut out of the concrete. These details highlight the diverse perceptions of familiar objects and their adaptation to the local environment.

PO-2 is a unique urban planning symbol, which stands out for its rough and brutal appearance. Despite the fact that it does not meet modern standards of a comfortable urban environment, it can even be found on the verandas of kindergartens. For me, this architectural element embodies the late Soviet era and is an important part of the history of architectural development in our country. The urban environment influences human psychology and behavior, and PO-2, as an element familiar to many from childhood, becomes an interesting example of how architectural solutions shape our perceptions and upbringing.
