Learn moreAt the Config 2025 conference, Figma presented a number of significant updates designed to simplify the work of designers. One of the key innovations was Figma Draw, which significantly improves the tools for working with vector graphics. To use this feature, simply click the corresponding button in the bottom bar. These updates make Figma an even more powerful tool for designers, enabling them to create high-quality graphics quickly and efficiently.
In this article, we'll take a detailed look at the product, its unique features, and how it works. You'll learn what benefits it offers and how it can improve your life or business. By diving into the details, we'll explain exactly how the system works and what makes it compelling for users. Stay tuned to learn more about the key aspects and capabilities this product unlocks.
If your file is in drafts rather than a project, Figma Draw will be unavailable. To resolve this, create a project in your account and move the file to it. This does not require a subscription.
Brushes
Users have access to vector brushes that simulate paint strokes. These tools are perfect for creating artistic effects and adding personality to designs. Vector brushes make it easy to achieve realistic textures and dramatic details in your designs.
To create your own brush, start by drawing a shape or vector spot. Then right-click on the created element and select "Create Brush." The new brush will then be added to your list of available tools.
To create a brush from multiple shapes, you must first combine them into a single shape. Otherwise, the "Create brush" option will not be available. To combine shapes, select them, right-click and choose Flatten.
The brush effect can be applied to any existing vector. To do this, select the vector, then click on the Stroke section in the right panel and select the Brush option. This approach allows you to significantly expand your design capabilities and add uniqueness to your vector image.
Advanced Vector Editor
Now you can apply stylization effects to any vector. This allows you to make a vector dynamic and change its frequency, amplitude, and anti-aliasing level. These capabilities open up new horizons for creativity and allow you to create unique graphic elements. Using these effects helps improve visual perception and adapt vector images to specific tasks.
To change the vector settings, select it and in the right panel, under Stroke, click Dynamic.
You can now cyclically arrange any object in a circle, as well as horizontally and vertically.
Select any object on the layout and click the corresponding button in the upper part of the right panel. By default, Figma arranges objects in a circle. If you click the "Repeat" option, you will have the option to change the direction of the objects to linear. This will allow you to fine-tune the design and optimize the placement of elements on your layout.
All elements placed within the cycle will automatically adapt to each other, creating the appearance of a single component with its copies. This feature allows you to effectively manage the visual representation and simplifies the development process.
If you select several vector objects and press Enter, a vector editor for editing these shapes will open. This editor offers two key features: the lasso and the Shape Builder, which significantly simplify the process of working with vector graphics. The lasso allows you to select complex areas of images, while the Shape Builder helps you create new shapes by combining or removing existing elements. These tools make editing vector graphics more intuitive and efficient.
Using the lasso tool, you can select specific points to edit multiple shapes together. This allows you to work efficiently with graphic objects, ensuring precision and ease of editing. Selecting points with a lasso simplifies the process of adjusting and modifying shapes, which makes it an indispensable tool for designers and artists.
Shape Builder provides the ability to cut out individual elements from intersecting shapes, which greatly simplifies the process of working with graphics. This tool is ideal for creating complex shapes and designs, allowing users to easily combine and modify shapes. Using Shape Builder saves time and increases the efficiency of working with vector graphics, making it indispensable for designers and illustrators.
Now you can place text along any vector, and the baseline will precisely follow the curves of the line. This allows you to create more harmonious and aesthetically pleasing designs, where the text fits seamlessly into the overall composition.
Select a vector object, press the T key, and hover over its edge. Click and start typing. A circle will appear next to the resulting text, allowing you to move the starting point of the line by dragging it. This is a convenient way to edit text in vector graphics, allowing you to precisely adjust its position in relation to the object.
Now you can use not only raster images as a fill, but also objects directly from your layout, such as vector patterns. This expands the creative possibilities of designers and allows you to create unique visual solutions. Using vector patterns as fills ensures high-quality graphics at any scale, making your project more professional and appealing.
Select the desired shape or frame. In the right panel, under "Fill," click the plus icon and click the color swatch. Select the source of your pattern from the menu that opens.
This menu allows you to adjust the indentation, alignment, and scaling of objects against the background. These settings allow you to fine-tune the placement of elements, improving visual appeal and consistency with the design. Correctly setting indents and alignment contributes to the harmonious perception of content, and scaling objects helps to emphasize key elements.
Now each object has the ability to apply a progressive blur, allowing you to create a flashlight effect. This effect can be used to highlight certain elements on a page, adding depth and dynamism to the visual experience. Applying blur helps focus the user's attention on important information, while creating an interactive and modern atmosphere.
Select the object to which you want to apply the effect. In the right panel, under Effects, click the Add button and replace Inner Shadow with Layer Blur. Then set the effect to Progressive. In the settings that open, set the direction and degree of blur to achieve the desired result.
Two new effects have been added to the effects panel: Noise and Texture. These tools allow you to significantly expand your editing capabilities and add uniqueness to your projects. The Noise effect adds textured noise, helping to create a more dynamic and interesting image. The Texture effect allows you to apply various textures to your work, giving it depth and character. Using these effects will open new horizons for creativity and improve the quality of your visuals.
The Noise effect is used to apply a noise texture to an object. In the effect settings, you can adjust both the pattern and the noise intensity, which allows you to achieve various visual effects and settings.
The Texture effect creates the illusion of an image located behind textured matte glass. The intensity of this effect can be adjusted in the filter settings, allowing you to achieve a variety of visual results. This effect is ideal for creating unique and artistic compositions, adding depth and interest to the image. Optimizing the use of the Texture effect can significantly improve the overall appearance of your graphic materials.
