The festival drew attention to cultural and spiritual values, making it an important milestone in contemporary art.

Font designer Artem Veretenko shares the process of creating a custom font for video titles. This unique font was developed by order of the Persimfans Orchestra and is planned to be used for designing posters and event announcements. In 1917, Ivan Vyshnegradsky, a graduate of the Petrograd Conservatory, defended his diploma thesis, which became a significant event in the musical culture of the time. His work for reciter and symphony orchestra, entitled "Day of Being. Confession of Life Before Life," attracted the attention of listeners and critics. This creation reflects deep philosophical reflections on life and being, which makes it relevant today. Vyshnegradsky managed to combine literary and musical elements, creating a unique experience for the audience.

The composer noted that the inspiration for the music and lyrics came to him as a result of a profound mystical experience. The work "Day of Being" explores the themes of the cycles of life, death, and rebirth, as well as the states of sleep and awakening. It touches on the eternal contradictions between good and evil, as well as the ideas of creation and destruction. The main focus is on the human desire for knowledge, self-knowledge, and creative expression. This work is a profound allegory on the theme of human existence and the search for meaning in life.

In 1920, Vyshnegradsky left Soviet Russia and moved to France. Throughout most of his life, he continued to work on his work "Confession." This work was first presented to the general public in Paris in 1978, more than 60 years after its composition. Persimfans and "Man of Peace"

In August 2022, the "Man of Peace" festival-laboratory was held in Suzdal. Participants integrate their work, including productions, performances, paintings, and music, into the natural landscape: riverbanks, ravines, fields, and forests. As part of the creative laboratory, the Persimfans symphony ensemble presented a performance of the work "Day of Being." The musicians were positioned near the walls of the Pokrovsky Monastery, where instead of a single reader, an entire choir recited the text. Each audience member had the opportunity to take a printed copy of the text and join in the reading, creating a unique atmosphere of engagement and interaction. This event became a striking example of the synthesis of music and literature, drawing attention to cultural heritage and traditions.

Persimfans, also known as the First Symphony Ensemble, is a unique group of musicians that functions without a conductor. This ensemble was founded in 1922 on the principles of socialist self-organization, allowing each member to make an equal contribution to the creative process. At various points in its existence, the orchestra's membership reached 150 musicians. However, under the totalitarian regime in 1933, the ensemble's activities were suspended. In 2008, Persimfans was revived in Moscow, preserving the spirit of experimentation in the performance of symphonic works and offering new interpretations of classical music. This ensemble continues to attract the attention of listeners and musicians striving for creative expression and innovation in the world of symphonic music.

The summer performance of "Day of Being" and the return of Vyshnegradsky's music to Russia became significant events in the country's cultural life. The musicians and artists of the laboratory decided to create a film dedicated to this event. To design the credits, they turned to designer Artem Veretenko, who contributed to the project's visual design.

Manuscripts and Glyphs

Persimfans members, violinist Asya Sorshneva and artist Yaroslav Shvartsshteyn, approached the designer with a request to create a unique font.

The idea was to create credits based on the author's handwritten comments left in the score. This approach preserves the individuality and character of the original work, giving it a unique character. The use of handwritten text in credits can create a deeper connection between the viewer and the author, as well as enhance the emotional impact of the musical experience.

The original score was sent to the designer from a museum in France.

We carefully analyzed the material and selected the most Expressive letters. Some of them had to be reworked, assembled from individual elements.

After completing the sketch collection and glyph creation stage, the designer began the font assembly process. This is a standard but labor-intensive process, requiring careful contouring, removing burrs, and adding a natural softness to the letters. It is also important to preserve the original dynamic of Vyshnegradsky's handwriting so that the font retains its individuality and character.

There was only a short time left to prepare for the work—just over a week.

Artem also worked on the arrangement of the letters, trying to create the effect of them gently jumping along the line. This adds dynamism to the text and evokes the naturalness of live writing.

The Fate of the Font

Wyschnegradsky Script is a full-fledged font product that includes Cyrillic characters, Latin letters, numbers, and basic punctuation. This font is ideal for use in various types of design and text layouts, ensuring high quality and readability.

The font needs to be improved so that similar letters are replaced with alternative versions when typed. This will give the lettering greater expressiveness and make it more lively.

Frankly, this is unlikely to happen, as this project is dedicated to Bono.
