The multi-page "REP" about rap

HSE School of Design bachelor's degree graduate Aisylu Galiyeva presented her thesis on Russian rap. The publication stands out for its complex visual design and numerous details. We decided to talk to Aisylu to find out how this project developed and what ideas were behind it.

The choice of these three musicians is due to their significant contribution to the music industry and the unique styles they represent. Each of them has influenced the development of genres and has become a symbol of a certain era. Their work continues to inspire new generations of artists and listeners, which makes them interesting figures for analysis. These musicians not only showcase a diversity of musical genres but also reveal important aspects of the cultural context of their time.

Rap as a genre is characterized by text-centricity, where words and their meanings play a key role. This is especially noticeable in the work of underground artists. Among them, Makulatura, Slava KPSS, and EPP stand out, and they have left a significant mark on my perception. Their unique style combines originality of form with depth and sincerity of content. Their lyrics always convey doubt, framed with irony, and their characters are "on the front lines" of life, yet they seem to exist in a dreamlike state.

You experience the lyrics with physical contact, similar to the way you feel the ground beneath your feet in a protected forest. These are artists whose albums I enjoy listening to from beginning to end, without skipping a single track. Although there are many such artists, these musicians are perceived as loyal friends who are always nearby.

Rap has had a significant influence on the layout, bringing elements characteristic of this musical culture to the design. The layout of each section can reflect certain aspects of rap culture, such as street aesthetics, graffiti, and dynamism. The use of bright colors, unconventional fonts, and asymmetrical compositions helps create an atmosphere in which visual elements harmoniously blend with the text content. Thus, the layout becomes not just a background but an active participant in the transmission of information, emphasizing the uniqueness of each section. This interaction between rap and layout opens up new opportunities for creative expression and audience engagement.

Russian rap can be viewed as modern poetry, where rhythm and rhyme become tools for conveying deep thoughts and emotions. In this context, I illustrated the text with visual interpretations of music and collages, which enhance the perception of the content and create a unique atmosphere. Works in this direction emphasize the connection between words and music, allowing for a better understanding of the meaning and mood of the works.

Rap strives for the unity of the author's biography and their artistic work. I adhere to the same approach.

Book identity is a multi-layered structure of information, including texts, lines, textures, and materials. I am interested in observing how this process occurs in a deep emotional context. It is important that the selected materials create visual signs that reflect time and space, preserving them as something ephemeral and unforgettable. This approach allows not only to convey the meaning of the book but also to create a unique interaction with the reader, deepening their perception.

Everything I create represents the form and image of emotional perception. I do not strive to follow popular minimalism, as I do not feel a connection with it. My desire is to convey feelings and emotions. This process inspires and fascinates me, and I increasingly recognize moments of sincerity and vitality in my work.

The question of what was most draining about my work requires careful analysis. Fatigue often arises from long hours, high quality demands, or constant stress. Poor workflow organization and a lack of support from colleagues can also negatively impact productivity and overall well-being. It is important to pay attention to these aspects to prevent burnout and maintain motivation. Effective time management strategies and regular breaks can help cope with fatigue and improve overall work efficiency.

When a person is doing what they love, they do not feel bored or tired. Passion brings joy and inspiration, which makes the work process more engaging and productive. It is important to find what you truly enjoy so that each day brings satisfaction and motivation for further achievements.

My work is organically woven into my daily life. It is not just a collage or creativity; it is a reflection of my inner experiences. I didn't choose my path consciously; every decision I made was predetermined. I do what I'm meant to do, and it's been with me since birth. I do what brings me pleasure, because I can’t imagine my life otherwise.

You are completely immersed in the process, and this brings inner warmth.

Rap is a musical genre that originated in the United States in Rap emerged in the 1970s and has become one of the most popular forms of self-expression. It combines the rhythmic pronunciation of words, known as "rhythm," with musical accompaniment, including beat and melody. Rap ​​often addresses social, political, and personal topics, allowing artists to share their thoughts and experiences.

With the development of technology and the internet, rap has gained international popularity, and many new artists are emerging on the music scene. It is important to note that rap includes different styles and subgenres, such as hip-hop, trap, and others. Each of these styles has its own unique characteristics and audience.

Rap not only entertains but also serves as a powerful tool for discussing topical issues such as racial discrimination, poverty, and identity. Contemporary rap artists continue to experiment with form and content, making the genre dynamic and relevant.

I have become more aware of the connection between rap's rhythmic structures, free expression and reflexivity, and collage. This connection highlights how various elements of art can combine to create a unique perception and integration of ideas. Rap, as a form of expression, uses rhythm and lyrics to convey emotions and thoughts, which resonates with the collage technique, where different elements are combined to form a unified whole.

Mixed media is an effective way to overcome the limitations of thought and routine processes. This approach is actively used by rappers when creating unique works. This process involves a synthesis of ideas, where you not only generate creative thoughts but also convey them to the world through the prism of your perception. This allows you to experience the joy of doing what you love, giving it even more depth and purity. Using mixed media can greatly enrich the creative process, opening up new horizons for self-expression.

My connection with my passions is growing stronger. I pursue what fills me with energy and inspiration. This positive dynamic helps me not only develop, but also enjoy life.

GO TAPA Cosmetics Packaging

Suprematika Agency has developed a new design for the GO TAPA cosmetics brand. The products are presented in compact volumes and packaged in vibrant travel-style packaging inspired by the style of luggage tags. The new design emphasizes the mobility and ease of use of cosmetics while traveling. GO TAPA is the ideal choice for those who value quality and style in cosmetics, allowing them to always look well-groomed in any conditions.

We spoke with Suprematika Art Director Irina Sakharova to learn about the visual solutions that underlie the brand. Irina shared her thoughts on the design concept and approaches that helped shape the company's unique style.

The target audience of the GO TAPA brand includes active and modern consumers who value quality and style. These are people striving for a healthy lifestyle and interested in new gastronomic trends. They are open to experiments and prefer convenience and practicality in choosing products. The brand is aimed at young people and adults who monitor their nutrition and choose products that suit their lifestyle. GO TAPA appeals to both lovers of original snacks and those seeking a quick and tasty snack. GO TAPA's target audience is young people living in large cities. They lead active lifestyles, are open to adventure, and seek out exciting experiences. They value cosmetics in convenient packaging that fits easily into even a small bag. Such a product will be the perfect companion for travel, during workouts, at work, or when visiting friends. This audience isn't tied to the same products, preferring to experiment and create different sets. We came up with the idea of ​​"airport" references while discussing the project concept. An alternative theme was initially considered, but it didn't meet our goals and didn't generate the necessary interest. We decided to focus on the airport theme as it offers numerous opportunities for creativity and audience engagement. This theme better reflects modern realities and responds to user needs, which ultimately became the deciding factor in choosing the direction.

The "Airport" theme was a natural choice, dictated by the concept of our "Beauty on the go" product. We immediately realized that we needed to find the optimal visual form to present the idea. During the search, various alternatives were considered, including imagery associated with travel and the road.

During the design process, certain limitations arose that required significant effort to overcome. These limitations could be related to technical aspects, such as compatibility with various devices or performance requirements. Limitations related to client preferences or brand characteristics were also possible. As a result, we had to seek creative solutions to adapt the design to the given framework while maintaining its functionality and aesthetic appeal.

The mini-package format and the variety of SKUs limit the design possibilities. Our task was to effectively convey the idea, accommodate all the necessary information, and adapt the concept to various formats. As a result, in addition to the main brightly coloured product packaging, additional packaging with a luggage tag was developed. This solution makes it easy to perceive the brand concept, while maintaining the convenience and functionality of the main packaging.

Design of the exhibition "I'm going to look for"

At the Bread House The Tsaritsyno Museum opened the exhibition "I'm Going to Search" in early July. This anthropological study of rituals associated with life's transitions is presented as a total installation, bringing together works by contemporary artists. The exhibition explores profound themes such as age, life, death, time, light, shadows, and dreams, as well as their reflection in folklore and everyday life. Students can choose appropriate modules based on their interests and goals, allowing them to develop multimedia skills in the most effective way.

Kafedra School offers a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in real-world multimedia projects, which is one of the key features of our program. Our design system is created with an emphasis on openness, adaptability, and experimentation, allowing students not only to follow a given trajectory but also to independently make changes and shift emphasis within the unified Kafedra system. This allows for the development of creativity and an individual approach while remaining within the context of the modern workflow.

Our most valuable discovery is the concept that a visual system can metaphorically represent the learning process itself. We appreciate how the internal structure, represented as a grid or module, becomes an obvious and emphasized language of communication. This visualization not only simplifies understanding of the educational material but also promotes deeper perception and interaction with the information. As a result, this approach to learning can significantly improve the effectiveness of the educational process, making it more visual and accessible to all participants.

Using his experience and professional skills, Zhenya creates unique and memorable solutions that help clients stand out in the market. Lufta Font

Independent designer Arina Shokareva has unveiled the Lufta font, now available at type.tomorrow. Lufta is a unique slab serif typeface with a friendly style and an almost stencil-like design. The font comes in three weights: Normal, Rounded, and Doubled, making it suitable for a variety of graphic and typographic projects. Lufta is ideal for creating striking and memorable visuals.

A task was submitted to the designer chat: interpret a reference image. We discussed how the full font was created and asked Arina questions for more information.

You now have two interesting projects in the field of fonts: Ruff and Lufta. What are the main differences in the process of working on them?

Both fonts have a display style, but the process of their creation was significantly different. The Ruff font was developed during my student years under the supervision of Dima Golub, and this experience became the basis for my further development in font design. Working on Ruff allowed me to master key principles and techniques that I apply in my practice.

After the release, I felt the desire to create something unique, so I decided to participate in the Playfaces chat experiments led by Volodya Kolomeytsev. During this process, I sought to find a direction for the future font. One of my experiments was so successful and elicited such a positive response from many that I realized it was worth trying to implement as a font. This is how Lufta was born.

The serif as an independent graphic element was transformed into the circle and its fragment as a result of the evolution of design and typography. This form arose from the need to give the text expressiveness and uniqueness. The circle and its fragment serve not only as decorative elements but also help focus the reader's attention on certain parts of the text. This approach improves information comprehension and creates a more harmonious design. The evolution of serifs reflects changes in visual culture and a desire for minimalism, which also influences contemporary design trends.

The reference provided by Volodya is one of the logo variants for the Igla bar, designed by the author of KOBRA. I was impressed that serifs can take on a completely different form, rather than the standard ones growing from the strokes of a symbol. This idea opens up new horizons for design and allows for the creation of a unique visual style that is memorable and original.

I experimented with oval and semi-oval shapes in lettering. I realized this could be achieved using stencils, so I decided to create each letter from modular elements.

There are letters or shapes that clash with the overall style of a font, especially when working on graphic design. Such elements can disrupt the overall composition and make the text difficult to read. It's important to carefully select each letter to create a cohesive whole where all the characters complement each other organically. When designing a font, pay attention to the proportions, line weight, and style of each letter to avoid inconsistencies and visual dissonance. Working with modules is a fascinating and interesting process. The same character can be created in different ways, and each one will still function. For me, drawing complex characters has become a real game, where I explore how to assemble them from existing resources. This allows me to express my creativity and find unconventional solutions in development. Creating the Latin letter S took a long time. In early versions, it had a simpler, more angular shape, which didn't suit the style of the font. In the latest version, the letter S was rounded, forming semi-ovals, which made it more harmonious and aesthetically pleasing.

We had some difficulties with the functions, but the type.today team provided invaluable assistance in solving them.

In 2025, the world of fonts was replenished with new interesting solutions. One of the most notable is the elegant antiqua CoFo Raffine, which will bring sophistication and style to design. The Geotunda typeface, with its friendly character, is an excellent choice for projects focused on creating a warm and approachable atmosphere. Also worth noting is the rebirth of Pragmatica, which showcases a modern approach to classic forms. These new additions offer designers ample opportunities for creative expression and can significantly enhance the visual appeal of various projects.

Book "It Continues"

Konstantin Eremenko designed a book by photographer and teacher Alena Kochetkova, dedicated to the pain, fears, and life experiences associated with cancer. In this work, the author explores the complex emotions and experiences that accompany people in the fight against the disease. The book offers an in-depth look at personal experiences, allowing readers to understand the importance of support and understanding in such difficult situations.

Tretyakov Furniture

Asya Moiseeva, a graduate of the Russian State Stroganov Academy of Art and Industry, presented a capsule collection including an oak sideboard, an armchair, and a lamp. These design pieces are a visual reflection of the personality of Pavel Mikhailovich Tretyakov, emphasizing his roles as a strict merchant, a passionate collector, and a wise philanthropist. The collection demonstrates a harmonious combination of aesthetics and functionality, as well as respect for the historical heritage.

My project is dedicated to the anniversary of the department, which turned 80 years old, as well as to the 200th anniversary of the art school Stroganovka. My research focuses on Pavel Tretyakov, known not only as a patron of the arts and collector but also as an active participant in Russia's cultural life. I immersed myself in a vast amount of information about his activities. After visiting the Tretyakov House Museum, I learned that Pavel Tretyakov owned the Kostroma linen factory and significantly contributed to the improvement of Moscow. His financial support went toward numerous projects, including the construction of Tretyakovsky Proyezd. His contributions to the establishment of a boarding house for deaf-mute children and the Arnold Tretyakov School are also worth noting, underscoring his social responsibility and commitment to the development of education. The architecture of many of the buildings reflects the Russian Art Nouveau style. After Pavel Tretyakov's death, the façade of the Tretyakov Gallery was decorated in the same style, based on sketches by the artist Viktor Vasnetsov. This trait inspired me to create a concept that combines austerity, asceticism, and decorative elements.

It was necessary to carefully combine elements of Russian Art Nouveau with the character of Pavel Mikhailovich Tretyakov. It was important to reflect his inner warmth. Surviving letters from friends, acquaintances, and family show that, despite his outward austerity and strong character, he was a surprisingly generous and warm person.

The cabinet symbolizes a gallery and collecting, recalling paintings hanging in dense rows. Surviving archival photographs demonstrate how he hung canvases, often arranging them so that the frames almost touched. The design of the sideboard reveals a characteristic shape reminiscent of Pavel's sculptures, where he is depicted with a straight back and crossed arms. This design element emphasizes rigor and structure, making the cabinet not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.

The armchair is a direct reference to the canvases used by artists. It features a reversible cushion, reminiscent of the process of stretching linen canvases and stapling them onto stretcher bars. This detail emphasizes the connection between furniture and art, creating a unique style and atmosphere in the interior.

The lamp with balls is a reference to the Kostroma linen factory. It is made of translucent plastic and linen, and the pom-pom ribbon resembles the spools of thread used in factories. Bunches and boxes on thin sticks inspired this form. This unique combination of materials and forms emphasizes the connection to the traditions of textile production, creating a contemporary decorative element that preserves the spirit of craftsmanship.

The wooden balls placed on the armchair and sideboard are an interesting reference to the Russian Art Nouveau style. They showcase decorative elements in a contemporary context, combining tradition and current design trends. Such accents in the interior emphasize the uniqueness of the space and give it character.

The museum superbly showcases Tretyakov's outstanding personality and his significant contribution to the development of Russian culture. He acted with a sincere desire to enrich the country's cultural heritage. Today, selfless people like Tretyakov are becoming fewer and fewer.

Brand platform Mastermind

The Shchuka brand bureau presents a project for Mastermind, a coaching program aimed at entrepreneurs. The project design visually reflects the concept of a "turning point," symbolizing key moments of change and growth in business.

We turned to Ivan Vasin, partner and creative director of Shchuka, to understand the messages conveyed by the various branding elements and why these particular solutions were chosen for the project.

Mastermind branding stands out among other VIP clubs and private societies thanks to a unique approach to visual identity. The key element is a combination of elegance and irony, which reflects the club's philosophy. Visual details, such as an exclusive logo and stylish color palettes, create a sense of luxury, while ironic elements add a casual and approachable feel. This combination makes Mastermind branding memorable and appealing to the target audience, emphasizing the club's uniqueness and value.

Mastermind is not just a private club in the traditional sense. It is a coaching program that represents a "space for positive change." Its concept is based on the metaphor of growth points and turning points in life. Participants learn to recognize these opportunities and direct their efforts toward creating the best version of themselves. Mastermind offers the support and resources necessary to achieve personal and professional goals, making it a unique tool for transformation and self-development.

This metamorphosis is clearly demonstrated in our generative videos, where each change visualizes the dynamics and evolution of ideas. The book "My name is Erik Satie... like everyone else"

Erik Satie was a French composer who had a significant influence on the development of music in the early 20th century. His work became the basis for the emergence of many modern musical genres of the 21st century, including neoclassicism and minimalism. Satie collaborated with famous figures such as Sergei Diaghilev and Pablo Picasso. He was not only emotional and eccentric, but also a master of sarcasm, which was reflected in his works and approach to music. Erik Satie's contribution to musical art remains relevant and continues to inspire the modern generation of composers and musicians.

Polina Livaich, a graduate of the HSE School of Design's Master's program in Book Art, presented her new book dedicated to the art of book creation. This work is vibrant and profound, reflecting the complex nature of Satie himself and his contribution to literature and art. The book will be a valuable resource for anyone interested in contemporary trends in book design and literary creativity.

It plays a vital role in the perception of the text, creating a harmonious interaction between the visual design and the literary content. Proper layout helps attract the reader's attention, emphasizing important points and ensuring comfortable reading. Fonts, indents, and page sizes should be selected to highlight the uniqueness of the work and make it accessible to a wide audience. Importantly, layout can also influence the overall perception of the theme and its emotional weight, making it an integral part of the literary process.

Layout, like Satie's music, is freed from a rigid structure. Such a simple layout provides the opportunity to experiment with the text, emphasizing ironic moments, recurring motifs, and conveying a fragmented literary style. This creates a unique atmosphere in which the text becomes not just information, but art, capable of evoking emotions and thoughts in the reader.

Air spaces, indents, gaps, and ellipses—all these elements play an important role in the creativity of the book's protagonist. They not only add expressiveness to the text but also help create a certain mood, emphasizing key points. Proper use of these techniques enriches the reading experience and makes the narrative more engaging.

I searched for a long time for the right font that would reflect the simplicity of the compositions and Satie's rebellious spirit. One of my teachers recommended Arial and Times New Roman. This combination truly proved ideal for the book's design, as it harmoniously blends modernity and classic elements, highlighting the uniqueness of the content.

The choice of basic fonts emphasizes the uniqueness of simplicity, similar to Satie's works. This decision also demonstrates his steadfast indifference to the abundance of critical assessments. The simplicity of the fonts allows the focus to be on the content rather than visual flourishes, making them ideal for a variety of formats and styles. In the context of web design, basic fonts ensure ease of perception and legibility, which is crucial for users.

The final original manuscripts are excellent examples of illustrative art. Their delicate and refined handwriting is sure to inspire calligraphy. Every element of the writing in these manuscripts demonstrates mastery and attention to detail, making them not only historically significant but also aesthetically pleasing. Studying such texts can be a source of inspiration for many interested in the art of writing and striving to develop their calligraphic skills.

I have long been familiar with musical notation, having attended music school. While sorting through Satie's archive of musical notations, I was intrigued by his chaotic sketches of works, as if I were spying on his creative process. His absurd musical instructions were especially captivating. Reading the phrase "play like a nightingale with a toothache," I could actually hear that poor nightingale in his music.

While working on the project, I was often amused by various situations. I especially remember an incident when the team was discussing creative ideas, and one of them turned out to be so absurd that it caused a roar of laughter. These moments not only brightened up the workday, but also brought the team together, demonstrating the importance of maintaining a sense of humor in work. Funny moments help to relax and overcome stress, which, of course, has a positive effect on the end result.

Identity and photo style for Sreda Summer Summit

The Dotorg agency has developed a unique visual style for a series of summer events at the Sreda festival. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that this project brought together 20 talented designers on one platform, presenting their work in unusual and funny poses. This creates a bright and memorable atmosphere that helps attract the audience and develop creative ideas.

Wednesday Summer Summit is a summer festival that embodies the atmosphere of summer for designers. How to convey this feeling? It’s a green meadow, reminiscent of the Serenity screensaver from Windows XP. Here we see the Y2K aesthetic and inflatable letters with an outline that evoke nostalgia for childhood and summer holidays. Festival participants will be able to immerse themselves in a unique atmosphere, exchange ideas, and be inspired by creativity. The Wednesday Summer Summit is not only a celebration but also an opportunity to expand design horizons, meet like-minded people, and enjoy the beautiful summer days.

We decided to organize a photo shoot, bringing together industry heroes and inviting them to interact with each other. It was a fascinating and fun shoot that allowed us to revisit our childhood for four hours. We came up with funny poses and even tried acrobatic tricks. The results exceeded all expectations, and we received many bright and memorable shots. This photo shoot not only strengthened the bonds between participants but also created unique content for our audience.

As a result, 30 unique and playful photographs were created, which have become important elements for various design media. These images bring originality and creativity, making the design more attractive and memorable.

Olga Kutovaya is the art director of Dotorg. In her role, she responsibly manages creative projects and guides the team to achieve high visual standards. Olga's extensive design experience allows her to effectively combine innovative ideas with client needs. Thanks to her leadership, Dotorg successfully implements projects that stand out from the competition and attract the attention of the target audience.

Graphic design for the exhibition "Woman Behind the Scenes"

From March to the end of July 2025, the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center hosted an exhibition dedicated to the history of Russian cinema through the prism of women's perspectives on the film industry. The exhibition revealed women's contribution to the development of cinema, their roles as directors, screenwriters, and actresses, and also highlighted the problems and challenges they faced throughout history. The exhibition provided a unique opportunity to see how women shaped cinema and influenced its evolution, emphasizing the importance of their participation in this dynamic and creative field.

The architecture of the exhibition space was designed by Kirill Ass, Nadya Korbut, and Mikheil Mikadze, while the graphic design was created by ABCDesign studio. We discussed the main principles on which this work is based with designer Daria Zatsarnaia.

When developing graphics for the exhibition architecture, many tasks arose that required attention and careful consideration. The main emphasis was on creating visually attractive and informative elements that would effectively emphasize the concept of the exhibition. It was important to ensure a harmonious combination of colors, fonts, and graphic elements so that they do not distract attention from the main content, but, on the contrary, enhance its perception. Additionally, it was necessary to consider lighting and spatial considerations to ensure the graphics would seamlessly integrate into the overall composition. Working on the exhibition architecture required constant collaboration with the team to achieve an optimal result that would be not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional. Working with the supergraphics on the wall in the exhibition's entrance area was a fascinating process. The use of slatted structures and their openings created a multi-layered and multi-scale effect. This is reminiscent of the changing frames and shots in films, adding dynamism and depth to the experience. This approach not only attracts attention but also creates a unique atmosphere for visitors, emphasizing the exhibition's concept and thematic focus. The entrance area includes three-dimensional forms that serve as display cases on the opposite side, lending a unique character to the architecture. The process began with sealing the plywood with our supergraphics, after which the slats were installed. This solution is not only aesthetically appealing but also effectively utilizes space, creating interesting visual accents.

We thank the architects for their engaging and high-quality work. Their professionalism and creativity make the projects unique and inspiring. The architects invest their knowledge and experience in every detail, allowing them to create spaces that are not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing. Their work deserves recognition and respect, as they shape the appearance of our cities and buildings.

How was it possible to avoid a "vintage" design in a project dedicated to the 20th century? What visual solutions allow us to connect old cinema with the modern perception of design in 2025? It is important to emphasize that modern technologies and fresh approaches to design are used to achieve a contemporary aesthetic. A commitment to minimalism, the use of current color palettes and graphic elements help create a harmonious blend of vintage and modern styles. A focus on content and its presentation, including interactive elements, also plays a key role in creating a unique visual experience that bridges eras and engages audiences.

Before beginning work on the project, I studied the films of 10 female directors featured in the exhibition. This gave me the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of their unique style and approach to cinema, as well as to recognize the significance of their contribution to the film industry. These directors' films reflect a diversity of themes and plots, highlighting the importance of the female gaze in contemporary cinema.

The graphic imagery of Soviet title sequences became a key source of inspiration for the project's inception. These unique visual elements not only reflected the aesthetics of the era but also set the tone for further development. Using Soviet titles as a reference allows us to create an authentic and memorable visual design, which helps attract audiences and strengthen the project's identity.

The exhibition logo was designed with the proportions of Soviet film frames in mind, emphasizing the uniqueness and style of the event.

The interlinear lettering is based on the film "Three Poplars on Plyushchikha" and its unique typeface. This lettering style reflects the film's atmosphere and aesthetics, creating a visual bridge between cinema and graphic art. The lettering, which uses elements from the iconic work, brings a touch of nostalgia and aesthetic pleasure to the design.

In our studio, we chose the Superclarendon typeface to complement the main Reforma Grotesk typeface. This combination of typefaces harmoniously complements each other. Superclarendon is used for the main text on the legends and labels in three formats: regular, extended, and condensed, designed for display cases. This font is also used in the booklet with the film program and recommended films, which opens to become a poster.

The "Rec" period provides a connection to contemporary directors and current video recording techniques. In some corporate identity variations, the red "Rec" logo is replaced with a black and white palette, referencing the aesthetics of early Soviet cinema. В детстве многие дети собирают в кармашек различные «сокровища» — мелкие предметы, камушки, ракушки или просто интересные находки. Tanya: I continue to collect because childhood is a time of play, when you can create your own world, and each thing becomes part of a unique story. This process helps me express my emotions and state through objects, which makes collecting an important aspect of my life.

By getting rid of all this inside you, you make space for the new, while preserving the memory of the past. This process allows you to not only renew your inner state but also promotes personal growth and development. Freeing yourself from excess helps create harmony and promotes a deeper perception of life.

In this work, sadness is conveyed through the use of expressive techniques such as metaphor and symbolism. These artistic devices help create an atmosphere of melancholy and deep emotional burden. The author masterfully plays with a color palette and sound associations to deepen the perception of feelings. Instead of explicitly describing sadness, he uses imagery that evokes similar emotions in the reader. This allows us to convey not only sadness but also other deep emotions, such as loss and nostalgia, making the reader reflect on personal experiences.

Dasha: Tanya and I are similar in how our moods form and manifest. It's a process based on associations and a deep personal perception of significant moments.

In this context, the techniques are lacking in specificity, and it's worth considering how important this is. All methods can be effective if used wisely and depending on the situation.

As art director, I focused on Tanya's personal story, which became a source of inspiration for her. I closely followed her creative process and sought to help her convey and preserve the atmosphere of this story. This work reflected nostalgia for vivid childhood memories and the sincere joy of play, as well as the ability to create an entire world from ordinary, everyday things.

• Dense shadows and a warm overall color evoke a cozy home and evening family gatherings, when everyone returns and gathers together.
• Attention to textures (close-up) and playing with geometry and different forms (piling up or combining different sizes) are my attempt to convey the world through the eyes of a child and their play with adult objects.

The question of what was the most challenging in organizing this project requires careful analysis. One of the most difficult tasks was coordinating the actions of team members, which included time management and resource allocation. Also significant challenges were the need to adapt to changing requirements and maintain high quality standards throughout the process. In addition, communication between different departments and ensuring their interaction often proved critical factors for the successful completion of the project. Effectively addressing these challenges was key to achieving our goals and bringing our ideas to life.

Tanya: Organizing this project wasn't particularly difficult, as all the items and my reflections were prepared in advance. However, choosing the right backdrop was a real challenge. It had to be more than just a backdrop, but an integral part of the story, enhancing its atmosphere and meaning.

I went for a walk in my grandfather's favorite raincoat. The sun's rays filtering through the fabric created amazing lighting, which became the perfect backdrop for all the photos.

Established designers, art directors, and creative professionals need to take on projects that go beyond their usual work to support creative development and expand their horizons. Such projects allow them to experiment with new ideas and approaches, and also strengthen their portfolio by demonstrating a variety of skills and creativity. Participating in unconventional projects promotes the exchange of experience and inspiration, which in turn increases competitiveness in a rapidly changing industry. Additionally, it's an opportunity to network and attract potential clients, which is a crucial aspect of a successful design career.

Dasha: I won't answer the question itself, but I'll highlight two key aspects to consider.

Impulse and response are natural reactions, and they are often impossible to resist. It's important to understand that their presence can significantly influence our behavior and decision-making. Instead of ignoring these feelings, it's worth learning to recognize them and use them to your advantage. This will help you make more informed decisions and achieve your desired results.

I often reflect on how a person's inner world is expressed in external reality. Emotions and feelings manifest through material objects and actions. In this process, in my opinion, the question "why" doesn't arise. It's important to understand how inner experiences can influence the world around us and shape our perception of life.

Throughout life, we accumulate a variety of emotional experiences that require expression. It's important not only to acknowledge your feelings but also to reflect on them in order to find a way to materialize this experience. Emotions become the foundation of our inner world, and their proper understanding and expression can lead to significant changes in life. The key is not the form in which we present our feelings, but the process of awareness and creation itself, which allows us to deeply understand ourselves and the world around us.

Dialogue with yourself can be compared to journaling or dancing. It is a process of self-reflection that allows you to gain a deeper understanding of your thoughts and feelings. Conducting an internal dialogue helps you connect with yourself and identify your desires and aspirations. This approach promotes personal growth and emotional development. Like dance, this dialogue requires time and practice to become harmonious and conscious.

It is important to remember that I recommend everyone to engage in creativity in a form that is closer to them. This is how stories emerge that you want to interact with. Creativity not only enriches personal experience but also creates unique narratives that can inspire and engage others. Allow yourself to experiment and open yourself to new ideas, because this is where the most interesting and memorable stories are born.

Collaborations are becoming increasingly popular in various fields, including business, art, and social media. They allow you to combine the resources and ideas of several participants, which facilitates the creation of unique content and expands your audience. Collaborations can include joint projects, cross-promotions, and partnerships that help increase the visibility of brands and products.

It's important to choose the right partners for collaborations so that they align with your image and goals. Effective collaborations are based on mutually beneficial terms, allowing both parties to reap the maximum benefit. This approach not only strengthens relationships between participants but also attracts new clients and subscribers.

To successfully implement collaborations, it's important to plan a strategy in advance, define goals, and discuss key aspects of the collaboration. This will help avoid misunderstandings and ensure a successful outcome. Thus, collaborations are a powerful tool for growth and development, worth leveraging in today's world.

My friendship with Tanya opened up new horizons for me and gave me the opportunity to explore a new role through collaborative creativity. Joint processes and projects not only enrich our experience, but also allow us to achieve significant results, benefiting each participant.

Illustrations for sports

Alexandra Sokolova presented illustrations for a sports diary designed for children. However, these bright and inspiring images will appeal not only to children but also to adults who want to lead an active lifestyle. We would also be happy to use such a diary to track our athletic achievements.

As a child, I was an active person and attended many sports clubs. I did rhythmic gymnastics and participated in competitions. This experience helped me develop physical endurance and discipline, and also strengthened my social skills through interactions with other children.

At school, physical education was my favorite subject. I regularly participated in competitions, as I was considered strong, agile, and fast. This became a great opportunity to take a break from routine lessons. I never missed physical education classes, which only confirmed my passion for this sport.

I paid special attention to diaries and notebooks, keeping them for various situations in my life. I constantly recorded important events, thoughts, and ideas in them.

My two favorite activities came together. The client cautiously offered me this work, assuming that it would not be very exciting. However, for me, it turned out to be completely different.

One of the spreads shows my favorite piece of clothing - pants with elephants. Although their color was not particularly bright, I really treasured this item of clothing. A relative brought me these pants from a trip to Thailand. When creating this image, I immediately decided to depict a yoga class by a stream with ducks wearing these pants.

The illustration of the game of Twister brings back memories of my childhood. It was someone's birthday, I was about ten years old, and I tried playing this game for the first time. I did gymnastics and dancing, which gave me amazing flexibility. Naturally, I wanted to show off my skills in the game. This was probably my last game of Twister.

I don't remember how exactly that day ended, but I clearly remember the angle and poses captured in the image. This moment left a deep imprint on my memory and became a symbol of the emotions and impressions I experienced.

Alexandra Sokolova is a talented illustrator and animator, known for her unique works in the field of visual art. She creates bright and memorable illustrations that attract attention and convey an emotional charge. Alexandra's animation practice utilizes modern technologies and creative approaches to create dynamic and engaging videos. Her work reflects a rich imagination and a high level of professionalism, which makes Alexandra one of the sought-after figures in the world of illustration and animation.

Hot Yoga Festival Identity

Kristina Ovchinnikova developed a unique identity for hot yoga at an intensive course led by Leonid Slavin at the HSE School of Design. This practice takes place in specially prepared rooms with temperatures ranging from 35 to 40°C and high humidity, which promotes deeper relaxation and improved physical fitness. The new visual style will help draw attention to this effective and popular practice, emphasizing its features and benefits.

During the work, various ideas arose, but some of them had to be rejected. This is due to the need to focus on more effective and appropriate solutions. Abandoning the initial plans allowed us to optimize the work process and achieve better results.

I realized that a meaningful idea always begins with a search. You start with the surface information, then you dig deeper and find something truly valuable. I had a few formulaic and vague ideas that ultimately proved useless. However, when I began to study the topic more closely, an idea related to a fogged window emerged. This concept opened up new horizons for me and allowed me to understand the essence of the issue in greater depth.

Typography plays an important role in the perception and readability of text. Negative line spacing, which is sometimes used, creates a special visual character. This technique allows lines of text to appear closer together, which can enhance the effect of compactness and information density. However, this approach requires caution, as excessively reducing line spacing can make the text difficult to read. Proper use of negative line spacing in typography helps create a unique style and attract the reader's attention, while maintaining clarity and readability.

Initially, I planned to create headings that looked like fingerprints on fogged glass, and keep the body copy as neutral as possible. While this idea still appeals to me, as we worked, a heading emerged that was "drowned" in steam, and the lines of text contracted, almost like muscles in yoga.

At that moment, everything finally fell into place.

In this project, I received the most satisfaction from the process of generating and implementing ideas that allowed us to achieve our goals. The opportunity to work in a team, share experiences, and see how our efforts lead to positive results brought me joy. Particularly inspiring was the interaction with colleagues and the exchange of creative approaches, which made the project not only successful but also interesting.

Drawing silhouettes and creating volume is a fascinating process. In different poses, certain body parts are emphasized more than others. Mastering this technique creates true magic in the image. Understanding proportions and the dynamics of forms allows the artist to convey movement and emotion, making the work more expressive. Transferring figures to merch is a fascinating process that allows one to highlight the unique features of each piece. Each element requires an individual approach, making merch creation not only a creative but also a strategic undertaking. The right choice of design and its adaptation to the merch can significantly increase interest in the product and attract the attention of the target audience.

The text contains elements of local street navigation and conveys a sense of freedom, eternal youth, and sincere simplicity. These themes highlight the uniqueness and originality of urban culture, creating an atmosphere in which everyone can find their place and express their individuality.
