Currently, as a freelancer, I can work from anywhere in the world, which gives me access to the European and international markets. At the same time, I remain a citizen of Kazakhstan, which adds confidence in the new conditions. Moving to Kazakhstan turned out to be difficult, as I did not have significant financial reserves. I only had a small amount in my account, enough to live for one or two months. These funds played a key role in an emergency situation when flights began to be canceled, and I urgently needed tickets. Unfortunately, many airlines did not refund money for canceled flights, which complicated the situation. I also needed to use funds to ship my husband's equipment, including 3D printers. However, new restrictions prevented this equipment from being shipped, adding further complications to the relocation process.

At the time, I was expecting client fees and completing several large projects, which gave me hope for additional funds. Unfortunately, payment delays for freelancers are common in our industry. However, in this case, this turned out to be a fortunate circumstance: despite the delay, all orders were paid.

Not having Russian citizenship and having a residence permit in the new country created significant obstacles. These financial difficulties highlight the importance of thorough preparation for an international move, including researching the banking and tax systems of the new country, as well as possible methods of transferring money.

The time difference is an important, albeit less noticeable, aspect of working in online education. I teach webinars for an online school on Moscow time, and they often end late at night. For freelancers accustomed to working nights, this may seem normal. However, it's important to consider that such a schedule can impact productivity and health, especially if the work involves intensive teaching and interaction with students. Proper time management and consideration of time zones will help create a comfortable environment for both teachers and students.

Given current events, Russian artists are not actively accepting orders. However, there is hope that this situation is temporary. Russia maintains a high level of professionalism in design, illustration, and visual culture, which creates the preconditions for market recovery. Confidence in the future and a commitment to quality will help Russian specialists regain their positions and attract clients.

The Future of Russia: Prospects and Feelings of Emigrants

February 24th became a significant starting point for many who began looking for a new home. In our case, preparation for emigration began long before this event. We carefully studied information about life abroad and mastered the language to be ready for new challenges. Now, recalling the path we have taken, we can confidently say that returning to Russia is not planned for us. The only exceptions are rare visits for important reasons or to visit our hometowns. Emigration has opened up new horizons and opportunities for us, and we are ready for new adventures in another country. Of course, sometimes I feel nostalgic for that cozy apartment where we spent so many happy moments and for the friends we were close with. Many of them have moved around the world, but we continue to keep in touch online. However, when it comes to the climate, atmosphere, and friendliness of the people, I feel much more comfortable in Kazakhstan. The quality of food and standard of living are significantly higher here, which brings me satisfaction. Kazakhstan offers not only beautiful natural conditions but also the opportunity to enjoy life in a friendly and hospitable environment.
