In Russian, the word "mir" has two main meanings. The first meaning is associated with the phrase "the whole world," denoting the global community, all of humanity, and the reality around us. The second meaning is manifested in the expression "peace to all," which implies a state of harmony, tranquility, and the absence of conflict. Let's consider both of these options in more detail.

Love is the foundation of all relationships and feelings. It inspires, fills life with meaning, and gives strength. The concepts of "peace," "love," and "design" are interconnected and influence each other. Design shapes our perception of the world, creating harmony and aesthetic appeal. Love, in turn, inspires designers to create unique and meaningful work. These three elements combine to create a holistic perception of reality and emphasize the importance of quality design in our lives.

If we view "peace" as a general state of harmony and mutual understanding between countries, people, and ourselves, then achieving it is impossible without respect and balance. Empathy, as well as recognition of the diversity of cultures, traditions, and values, play a key role in this process. They facilitate the emergence of new ideas and approaches, enabling harmonious relationships to be built both on a personal and international level. Thus, the pursuit of peace requires openness and a willingness to engage in dialogue, which is the foundation for sustainable coexistence.

Harmony inspires the resolution of differences and conflicts, encouraging care for family, friends, and community, as well as nature and culture. An important aspect of this process is the need to design products, services, and experiences that meet people's needs and preferences. This approach fosters well-being and mutual understanding, and helps shape a more sustainable and ethical society.

Designers, taking into account environmental and social aspects, prioritize materials, production processes, and technologies that help reduce the negative impact on society and nature. Their decisions, based on respect and care for living beings, serve as a link between individual interests and global challenges. Sustainable design not only maintains harmony with the environment but also creates values important for future generations. The words "peace," "love," and "design" form a synergy that promotes harmony and understanding in society. These concepts are interrelated and can serve as the basis for creating a comfortable and sustainable environment. Design, as a tool, helps visualize ideas, inspiring people to interact and collaborate. In modern society, it is important to use these concepts to foster a positive image and build relationships, ultimately leading to overall well-being.

Design is a reflection of the world we create around us. It shapes our perception of space and interaction with the environment. Every design element, whether in interiors, graphics, or products, plays a vital role in shaping the overall impression. By creating thoughtful and aesthetically pleasing solutions, we not only improve functionality but also influence people's emotional state. It's important to understand that design is not just about appearance, but a profound interaction between functionality and aesthetics that influences our lives.

Quality design is created with love and attention to detail. This approach allows us to consider not only aesthetic aspects but also functionality, making the product more appealing and user-friendly. Design that reflects concern for the world and the environment can inspire and evoke positive emotions. Creating a harmonious visual solution requires a deep understanding of audience needs and respect for the natural environment.

The co-founder of the DesignDepot studio, which has won more than two hundred awards both at the Russian and international levels, as well as the editor-in-chief and publisher of the [kAk] magazine, is today known as a poster artist with an international reputation. He is also the founder and instructor of the Bankov Poster School, where he teaches the fundamentals of poster creation.

In the modern world, these concepts have lost their connection. Everything has disintegrated into bright pixels, smoke, and fire. Dragons fly overhead, fire and ice merge into one. Life has stopped, and design has become a refuge for the eternal and beautiful. Letters and images create temporary beauty, allowing us to briefly forget the chaos. Design imbues our reality with aesthetics, giving meaning and harmony in an uncertain world.

Linking the concepts of "peace," "love," and "design" is quite difficult, as the word "peace" has several meanings, and my ideas about "love" and "design" remain vague. When you focus on something too intensely, it becomes difficult to articulate its essence: you notice the details, but lose sight of the big picture. For me, design represents an entire world in which love also plays an important role. These concepts intertwine, creating a unique atmosphere and inspiration for creativity.

Thinking about your question, I came to the conclusion that love for objects, not people, is the main source of my inspiration as a design historian and researcher. I always begin with visual perception: first, I admire the harmonious appearance of a fragment of a chair in a photograph, or the expressive relief of a page with typographic signs pressed into the paper. This attention to detail allows me to delve deeper into the study of forms and memorize their characteristics, sparking a desire to understand why they are the way they are. This passion, or as the Italians say, "l'amor che move il sole e l'altre stelle," energizes me and inspires me to write articles and lectures on design. Without this source of inspiration, my creativity and research would not exist.

The slogan "Peace, love, design" does not correspond to the current trends of this year. It is perceived as a manifestation of escapism and anachronism, sounding too toothless and hippie-ish. In the current situation, it is more important to focus on more significant and relevant topics that reflect the realities of our time and the needs of society.

Currently, many interesting changes are taking place. Within the capitalist world-system to which we belong, the economic crisis is intensifying and spheres of influence are being redistributed. We have also witnessed significant progress in the field of artificial intelligence, which is already beginning to influence the daily lives of consumers. This may cause some people to fear and want to distance themselves from what is happening, as hippies did in the United States in the 1960s. However, I am confident that new opportunities are opening up now. It is important to focus on creating and visualizing a positive vision of the future, rather than trying to revive outdated counterculture ideas.

Peace and love are ideal concepts, but the slogan sounds too utopian. More practical is to find solutions to eliminate the contradictions of the modern economic system. Designers can play an active role in this process. Design is not just a production stage, but a powerful tool for communicating ideas and values. We can use our skills to create sustainable and effective solutions that will help transform the current economic reality.

Last year, the theme of International Design Day, "Suspended in Transition," was more relevant and reflected current events and changes in the world. She drew attention to the importance of design in the context of constant transformation and uncertainty.

Creation is the foundation of our existence. Peace is the antithesis of war and destruction, and love is the main driving force of the universe. Design, as an art and craft, teaches us to understand the reality around us more deeply. It's no secret that things created with love evoke special feelings, and we don't want to part with them. They become objects that we strive to share with our loved ones. Thus, everything in this world is interconnected, and every detail contributes to our shared perception of beauty and harmony.
