Their mobility allows them to quickly travel anywhere they wish. The lightness of their body is due to their unique structure—a pneumatic skeleton, where every bone is filled with air. This adaptation helps them not only fly easily but also effectively cope with various environmental conditions. Birds represent freedom and independence, making them objects of admiration and study. The bird is a symbol of the connection between our world and the higher realms. It is associated with the element of air and is traditionally considered a creature capable of summoning the sun and dawn. Thus, the bird is a transcendental symbol, embodying spirituality and hope for a new beginning.

In the Old Testament, the dove released from Noah's Ark and returned with an olive branch in its beak is a symbol of hope and salvation. Doves, especially wild ones, are known for their remarkable flying abilities. In the past, these birds were associated with pigeon messengers and the transmission of news. The swan symbolizes loyalty and devotion, making it especially valuable in the eyes of people. Although many bird species mate for life, swans stand out for their grace and majestic appearance, and are also the largest flying birds. Male swans are known for their bravery: when observing them, one can see how an angry one can attack an adult male, forcing him to flee. Because of their strength and beauty, swans were often depicted on medieval knights' coats of arms.

The bluebird became famous at the end of the last century thanks to the group "Mashina Vremeni," which presented it as a "bird of luck." Other performers had previously mentioned the image of a "bird of tomorrow's happiness." These images originate from Maeterlinck's play "The Blue Bird." Although not everyone has read the play, the lines from songs dedicated to the bluebird ring true. This bird resembles our blackbird in its habits, differing only in its slightly larger size and beautiful indigo color that shimmers in the sun. I was once lucky enough to see it in the Himalayas, but it refused to pose for a photograph and was very swift. The bluebird symbolizes hope and the pursuit of happiness, continuing to inspire artists and musicians for many years.

The peacock is associated with beauty and luxury. Its magnificent tail serves to attract females during the breeding season. After fulfilling its reproductive duties, the peacock does not participate in raising its offspring, which can also be seen as a display of luxury. Due to the weight of its tail, the peacock cannot fly for long, but it is an excellent runner. In this process, females play the primary role, deciding on a mate, while males serve primarily as ornamental mates.

The falcon is the second most popular bird of prey, second only to the eagle. It is smaller and lighter than the eagle, but has amazing abilities. The fastest falcon is the peregrine falcon, which can reach speeds of up to 300 km/h (186 mph) during a dive, allowing it to catch prey in flight. A high-speed train connecting major cities is named after the peregrine falcon. In our perception, the falcon is associated with grace, clarity, and positivity. However, in the past, falcons could perform dangerous tasks, including hunting homing pigeons at the behest of the king. The falcon also serves as a faithful hunting companion. In ancient religion, the falcon was considered a sacred bird: the Egyptian god Horus, depicted with the head of a falcon, was the son of Osiris and avenged his death. Thus, the falcon became a symbol of strength and justice. A BIRD as a graphic symbol has a positive meaning. This sign, also known as a "tick," is used to indicate an affirmative answer. Chicken is an important element of agriculture and human nutrition. Chicken meat and eggs are among the main sources of protein and nutrients for humans. Despite its importance, the chicken often doesn't receive the respect it deserves. It's often compared to an overprotective mother, which creates a stereotype about its role. Unlike the chicken, the rooster is a more visible symbol: it awakens the bird in the morning, represents justice in fairy tales, and has become a symbol of France. Ryaba the Hen, a famous Russian fairytale heroine, also holds an important place in culture. The golden egg she lays is imbued with a profound meaning that remains a mystery to ornithologists and jewelers alike. It's important to understand that the chicken is not only a source of food but also a cultural symbol, reflecting the traditions and myths of various cultures. The cuckoo is known for laying its young in the nests of other species, leaving the care of their upbringing to other parents. This behavior makes the cuckoo a symbol of unreliability. When assessing the remaining years of life, one should not rely on such an unreliable bird.

The nightingale is considered the most outstanding singer of all songbirds. It is believed that the nightingale sings to attract a mate, and this is true, but this occurs mainly in late May and early June. After this, the female incubates the chicks, and the nightingales continue their musical activity. I once recorded a nightingale singing at night in mid-June and noticed how a nightingale several kilometers away imitated me as I stood in the dark with my smartphone held aloft. I also heard a whitethroat attempting to imitate a nightingale. Thus, we can say that birds sing not only out of love, but also for the sake of art.

The stork is a symbol of prosperity and well-being. It is believed that if a stork chooses the roof of your house for its nest, this portends good luck and well-being. It is believed that storks deliver newborn babies in their beaks. However, an alternative version also exists, according to which babies are found in cabbage. These myths emphasize the importance of storks in folk culture and their association with the beginning of new life.

Swallows are a symbol of the coming of spring. These birds are considered the first messengers of spring and are associated with beauty and grace, which has made them a common name for charming girls. However, it is worth noting that wagtails, also known as ice-creepers, arrive earlier than swallows. Despite this, wagtails have a less favorable reputation—they are more noisy and nervous compared to swallows.

The lark is associated with early rising and is a symbol of morning activity. This term is also applied to people who prefer to rise early. Early birds, like larks, often enjoy the calm and productivity of the morning, allowing them to effectively plan and carry out their tasks throughout the day.

These mysterious nocturnal birds, possessing unique hunting skills, are able to see perfectly both day and night, making them one of the most accomplished predators in the world. Their faces resemble humans, and they stare straight ahead with both eyes, adding to their mystical allure. In ancient Athens, owls were often depicted on coins, emphasizing their importance in culture and symbolism. Owls are not only skilled hunters but also symbols of profound knowledge, making them significant in various cultural contexts.

Crows are considered the most intelligent birds in the world. These amazing creatures successfully adapt to life in cities around the world, demonstrating outstanding survival skills and evolutionary adaptability. In Russian, corvids often have a bad reputation as thieves, which is reflected in their names. Perhaps this is why intelligence is associated with owls, which are imbued with wisdom in culture and folklore.

A crane in the sky is an amazing sight, and seeing one today has become a true miracle. Most crane species are already listed in the Red Book, emphasizing their rarity and the need for protection. A titmouse perched in the palm of your hand also offers no practical use, but evokes a magical feeling. Both of these bird species, despite their differences, represent an important part of our nature. The question of which is better—a titmouse in the hand or a crane in the sky—has no clear answer. Each bird is unique and deserves admiration.

The nightjar is one of the most mysterious birds. This nocturnal bird moves actively at dusk and is perfectly camouflaged during the day, making it virtually invisible. Seeing a nightjar motionless is extremely difficult. At night, it displays its activity, including unique behavior, expressed in a characteristic sound reminiscent of goats milking. Studying this bird opens new horizons in understanding nocturnal fauna and its adaptations to environmental conditions. Exotic birds occupy a special place among the diversity of wildlife. These amazing creatures, inhabiting tropical forests, amaze with their bright plumage and unique vocalizations. Birds of paradise, or birds of paradise, as they are often called, are one of the most striking examples of the beauty and diversity of the avian world.
