Learn moreEvery month, specialists, including teachers, art directors, and designers, share their impressions of modern graphic projects, which inspired them.
In this material, Mitya Kharshak presents several examples of works created by his close designer friends.

Director of the HSE School of Design in St. Petersburg, as well as the founder and editor-in-chief Projector publications.
Visual accompaniment to the composition "We Do What We’re Told"
This video clip was created for the composition by Peter Gabriel and is the work of Ariel Kotzer. Ariel previously held the position of art director at such agencies as Pentagram and TBWA, but he is currently focusing all his efforts on the implementation of his own projects related to artificial intelligence.
The video for "We Do What We're Told" is a powerful visual statement that addresses pressing issues of our time. The script is constructed in such a way that the tension and urgency are felt in a growing wave throughout the video.

Motifs ad Infinitum Project: Studies of Remediation in Time
Another impressive project that made a great impression on me is the work of my friend Selcuk Artut. He is a multidisciplinary designer and musician, and also a professor at Sabanci University, located in Istanbul. Selcuk operates at the intersection of programming, music, design, and multimedia art.
The ambitious multimedia project, Motifs ad Infinitum: Remediations in Time, is a logical continuation of Artut's research into identifying mathematical patterns in the creation of graphic patterns. In 2023, Apress published his work, Geometric Patterns with Creative Coding. This installation is amazing in its scale and multimedia approach!

Oded Ezer Exhibition
The third project that deserves attention is Oded Ezer's solo exhibition entitled The Samsa Enigma. It took place at the Jewish Museum in Prague and was timed to coincide with the 140th anniversary of Franz Kafka's birth.
The exhibition offers viewers a unique graphic interpretation of Franz Kafka's "The Metamorphosis." However, in my opinion, the literary original plays a secondary role here, serving merely as a stimulus for Oded's profound graphic self-reflection.
Ezera is known as a talented typographer, creator of original typefaces, and a witty developer of projects that push the boundaries of design. However, thanks to this exhibition, I saw something more in him – he proved himself to be an impressive graphic artist with a vibrant, expressive style.
