Googoods Design Studio, together with the Guangxin Community Development Association, presented an innovative project – Black Humor Cafe, run by local Hakka elders. This establishment aims to revitalize traditional neighborhoods known for their relaxed pace of life and promote a positive image of the older generation. Black Humor Café not only offers a unique experience for visitors but also creates a platform for interaction between generations, supporting local traditions and culture. The name Black Humor is no coincidence: it evokes associations of cynical humor, but actually refers to the black tiled roofs typical of Hakka houses. The designers used a delicate purple color, the senka flower, which harmoniously combines with natural materials such as wood and stone, thereby creating a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. This approach to design is not only visually appealing but also emphasizes a connection to tradition, introducing elements of modernity and style into the space. The use of natural materials and thoughtful color combinations makes the interior unique and memorable. At Black Humor Café, the older generation happily shares funny stories from their lives with visitors. That's why the project's creators decided to make grandparents the brand's main characters. The café's walls are adorned with photographs of them smiling, performing humorous gymnastics, making dumplings, and even riding scooters. These images create an atmosphere of warmth and friendliness, demonstrating to young people that life in old age can be vibrant and interesting. Black Humor Café is becoming a place where wisdom and life experience are valued, and interaction with seniors brings joy and inspiration.

Roots and Memories: The Art of Jibin Joy

Indian artist Jibin Joy draws inspiration from his childhood fantasies, creating unique characters that bring his memories to life.
