I conceived of a painting of bears in the forest and became fascinated with the idea. I. I. Sh-n took on the landscape. The painting was a success, and Tretyakov bought it. Thus, we successfully implemented our project, but the division of profits was not without its curious moments. These unexpected events forced me to withdraw from the creation of the painting, and it was exhibited under Sh-n's name, and this is how it is listed in the catalogue. It turned out that the issues of profit distribution could not be hidden, and legal proceedings began, as a result of which I was forced to sign the painting along with Sh-n. In the end, we split the proceeds from the sale, which amounted to 4 thousand, and I became a participant in a one-quarter share. This left me with an unpleasant feeling, and instead of joy, I experienced disappointment.

If anything disrupts the overall impression of the paintings, it's not the forest details, but, for example, the depictions of bears. Their treatment leaves much to be desired and significantly detracts from the overall picture created by the artist. Clearly, the artist, while well-versed in forest themes, is less adept at depicting animals. However, he does not abuse their presence.
