An artist and designer from Chelyabinsk, specializing in creating corporate identities and patterns for children's textiles. She actively collaborates with brands from different countries, which allows her to expand her horizons and apply a variety of approaches in her work. Her portfolio includes dozens of projects that are distinguished by cozy and kind plots, restrained aesthetics, and a watercolor technique. Her attention to detail makes her work unique and memorable, attracting the attention of potential clients and partners.

Irina and I discussed the process of developing a signature style, the specifics of collaborating with small brands, and sources of inspiration. We also discussed the importance of implementing ideas without delay.

My work with visuals began with a deep interest in art and design. I have always been fascinated by how visual elements can convey ideas and emotions. This led me to study various styles and techniques, as well as to the practical application of this knowledge in projects. Understanding the basics of composition, color, and typography became the foundation of my work. Over time, I realized that visual content plays a key role in attracting an audience and building a brand. This passion became the foundation of my career in visual communications.

I have two educations: the first in photography, the second in decorative and applied arts. Photography developed in me the ability to see composition, focusing on light, color, and detail. Arts and crafts taught me how to work with a variety of materials and think creatively. This education also led me to a love of watercolor and other analog techniques.

The key stages of the work process were:

    1. Analysis of project requirements and goals, which allowed me to clearly define the direction and priorities.
    2. Developing a strategy and action plan, including resource allocation and setting deadlines for task completion.
    3. Project implementation with constant quality control and adherence to deadlines, which ensured the effective completion of all stages.
    4. Evaluation of results and receiving feedback, which made it possible to make adjustments and improvements in the future.

Each of these stages played a significant role in the successful implementation of the project, contributing to the achievement of goals and customer satisfaction.

After completing my studies, I began my career in a framing workshop as an artist. In parallel with my work, I created a group on VKontakte to promote my work and communicate with clients. After working for several years and gaining sufficient experience, I realized that I was ready to devote myself entirely to creativity, and decided to quit to focus solely on my own business.

I've been freelancing for about 5-6 years. The main advantage of this job is that you don't have to be in an office from nine to five, which was a real challenge for me. However, there are also disadvantages: a constant struggle with procrastination and anxiety that future orders may not come. Freelancing provides freedom of choice and flexibility in your schedule, but it requires a high level of self-organization and responsibility.

Procrastination can be learned to cope. Each person has their own triggers that activate this process. In my case, it starts when I let my brain choose what to do. As a result, I often end up spending time browsing Pinterest or Reels. To effectively combat procrastination, it is important to set clear goals and limit the time allocated to entertaining content. This will help you focus on important tasks and minimize distractions.

My rules remain unchanged. I don't add anything extra and stick to the topic. The text will be adjusted for SEO, while maintaining its core content. I avoid using emojis and unnecessary characters, and I don't break the text into bullet points. Everything will be presented as a continuous text.

A clear daily schedule is an important tool for increasing productivity, although sticking to it isn't always possible. Breaking large tasks into smaller ones and using a timer for work greatly simplifies the process. A timer helps track the time spent on specific tasks. I prefer to use the Move On app, which allows me to work in a 25-minute work/5-minute rest mode. This approach promotes concentration and effective time management.

To cope with the fear of losing orders, I use income diversification. This means I receive money from different sources, which helps minimize the risk in case one of them disappears. Currently, my income comes from stocks and orders, and this year I plan to launch my own product for Procreate. This approach allows me not only to protect my finances, but also to expand my opportunities for growth and development.

Our work truly has a recognizable style, formed through a combination of unique ideas, meticulous attention to detail, and a constant pursuit of excellence. We emphasize originality, which allows us to stand out from the competition. Each new work is a step towards the further development of our style and reflects our views and approaches to creativity. Our team is constantly exploring new trends and techniques, which contributes to the evolution of our artistic expression and allows us to create unique projects.

When I started working in commercial illustration, I noticed that many artists have their own unique style. However, I didn't set out to create my own style. It was important to me to create illustrations that solve clients' problems and generate income. I am not inclined to draw simply for myself, without a specific goal. The field in which I work, namely prints for children's textiles, gradually shaped my style, allowing me to develop as a professional and meet market needs.

Last year, I began to realize my preferences in colors, compositions, and details. My interests revolve around nature. Living in the Urals, surrounded by picturesque mountains, lakes, and mosses, I couldn't help but reflect this in my work. My favorite series of works featuring hares vividly illustrates what inspires and attracts me to drawing. I strive to create magical and whimsical worlds filled with animals and plants, adding a multitude of small and sometimes unexpected details. My style reflects the harmony of nature and fantasy, which makes each work unique and memorable.

A recognizable style is formed not only thanks to drawing skills, but also through our inner experience, emotions and unique baggage, which we transfer to our illustrations. This style becomes a reflection of our individuality and perception of the world, allowing viewers to feel the depth and meaning of each work.

It's important to periodically revisit your memories, especially those moments when you were a child. Recall what you liked, what delighted you—perhaps it was bright colors, captivating characters, or gripping stories. What caught your attention and made you unable to look away? These memories help you better understand yourself and your preferences, and can also inspire new ideas and creativity.

At present You focus on developing brand identities and creating patterns for fabrics. What made you choose these particular areas?

I've always had a deep love for brands. This feeling is connected not only with owning them, but also with the inner delight in the story of their creation, visual concept, and development process. Brands are something amazing for me. Last year, I realized that I was tired of exclusively illustrative work and needed something new in my professional work.

I often met brand identities designers on Instagram, observed their work for a long time, and decided to take training in this field. When I took the brand identities course, I had doubts. I was worried that the training might not meet my expectations or that it would not be what I wanted to do. However, I convinced myself that this experience would be valuable and help me look at my work process in a new way. Studying corporate identity promises to broaden my skills and deepen my understanding of design, which is essential for future professional growth.

In our course, we worked with four real brands, developing unique corporate identities for each. I am proud to be one of the winners of this stream, and my project was chosen by the customer for further implementation.

Patterns have become an important part of my professional work due to their versatility and effectiveness. Working on projects related to patterns requires a deep understanding of their structure and application in various contexts. The key feature of such projects is the need to adapt patterns to specific tasks, which allows for the creation of more efficient and scalable solutions. Furthermore, it's crucial to consider user requirements and business goals to ensure patterns are truly useful and facilitate development.

My love for patterns began while working on stock platforms. At first, I created only individual elements for sale, but soon realized that they could be combined into patterns. I began to delve deeper into this topic by watching tutorials on YouTube, studying the work of international colleagues, and choosing the most convenient pattern creation methods for myself.

As an illustrator, I always feel joy when I see my work in physical form. Patterns surround us everywhere: they are present in textiles, wallpaper, household items, clothing, design elements, and books. This direction in illustration is one of the most popular and in-demand. Creating unique patterns not only allows you to express your creativity but also adds variety to everyday life. Each pattern can become an integral part of the interior or a stylish look, emphasizing individuality and aesthetics.

When developing patterns, it is necessary to take into account printing requirements. Currently, I am working on a pattern for clients from Sri Lanka who plan to use the silk-screen printing technique. It is important to pay attention to the number of elements, their sizes and the number of colors. However, all these nuances are mastered in the process of work. It's essential to ask questions of the client and research the requirements of different printing houses.

Important projects hold a special place in my professional life. Each one has become an important milestone, inspiring me to further develop. Some of these projects were more personal, reflecting my values and aspirations. For example, one such project allowed me to deeply understand my creative nature and expand my horizons. These works not only strengthened my skills but also brought me the satisfaction of realizing ideas that were close to my spirit. Each project was not just a task, but a true challenge that contributed to personal and professional growth.

One of my favorite projects is creating patterns for children's yoga mats for YogaMagic in Dubai. For this project, I designed two unique prints dedicated to the themes of day and night. I'm delighted with this sunny and atmospheric project, which combines functionality and aesthetic appeal, promoting children's development through yoga.

I love creating designs for children's textiles, as these commissions always give me peace of mind. One of my significant projects last year was patterns for the Canadian store Ploom Baby. The otter print proved particularly popular with customers, and clothing featuring this design sold out quickly.

For over a year, I have been creating patterns for bedding and pajamas for the New Zealand brand Arya&Mo. The client has managed to create a minimalist brand with a unique aesthetic. One of the benefits of working with small companies is the opportunity to communicate directly with the founder, which allows you to better understand their ideas and vision.

We are interested in a variety of areas, including new technologies, sustainable development, and innovations in education and health. We also focus on cultural projects and social initiatives that improve the quality of life. If you have any suggestions or ideas, we would be happy to discuss them.

I am increasingly delving into the world of design, and it has greatly changed my work and life in general. I have become more attentive to detail. When creating new projects, I seek inspiration not only on Pinterest but also in the world around me. Museums, theaters, cinema, and books open up new horizons and ideas for me. Design has become an integral part of my everyday experience, enriching it and expanding my creative possibilities.

I continue to experiment and search for what I truly love. Observing large design studios, I study their approaches to corporate identity development and realize that I still have a lot to learn. It is important not only to create visually appealing solutions but also to work more deeply with concepts and meanings. In the future, I plan to continue my education to develop my skills and professional qualities in the field of design.

I am currently taking design-related courses. I take short lessons to delve deeper into specific areas that cause me difficulty.

Last year, I realized how quickly you can start a new career or advance in your current level by taking specialized courses on a topic of interest. Previously, I thought that all the necessary knowledge could be found on Google. However, courses offer structure and systematization of information, which saves time collecting and organizing disparate data. Studying in a course format helps you not only assimilate theoretical knowledge but also acquire practical skills, which significantly accelerates the process of professional growth.

Keeping up with design trends is an important part of the work of designers and creative professionals. Knowing the latest trends helps create modern and engaging designs that meet user expectations. It's important not only to stay on top of new trends but also to be able to adapt them to your needs while maintaining uniqueness and style. Regularly exploring new technologies, color palettes, and formats can significantly improve your work. Use resources such as design blogs, social media, and specialized platforms to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the design world.

I don't actively follow trends, but I do occasionally pay attention to what's happening in the industry. I remember the details that interested me and think about how they can be adapted and used in my work.

Collaborating with foreign clients without knowledge of a foreign language can be difficult, but possible. Such an experience requires adaptation and the use of various tools for effective communication. The use of translators and specialized programs will help overcome the language barrier. It's also important to develop intercultural communication skills to better understand the needs and expectations of international clients. This experience can significantly enrich your professional skills and expand your business horizons.

I make decisions quickly and am always willing to try something new in my professional life. Recently, I came across a comment and a video discussing collaboration with international clients without the need for language skills. That same day, I registered on a freelance platform and just a week later, I began fulfilling orders for clients from different countries. This experience opened up new horizons and opportunities for me in my work.

From the idea to the first step, it takes minimal time. If you have a desire to try something, do it immediately. Otherwise, you may forget about your idea, and the initial enthusiasm will fade, which will hinder further progress when the results are not yet obvious. Don't put off your ideas for later, act now and create a habit of implementing your plans.

I have worked with international clients using translators such as Yandex and Deeply. Lately, I've been trying to reduce my reliance on these tools. One of the reasons I decided to start working with foreigners was to improve my weak English skills. I realized that immersion in the language and the need to communicate in English would be a great incentive to learn it.

Currently, I work with several regular clients from various countries. Temporary freelance exchanges are on hold due to certain difficulties associated with working from Russia. Despite the current reality, working with international clients remains possible, although it requires additional effort. The key is your desire to develop and learn. Immerse yourself in new and unfamiliar situations with an element of uncertainty—that's where true growth and professional development occurs.
