Find outCreative Summer Results on Behance
With the summer season drawing to a close, Behance creators are actively taking stock of their creative output. While activity has slowed in the last weeks of summer, some illustrators continue to stand out, presenting their best projects and unique ideas. This time allows not only to evaluate the work done but also to be inspired by fresh concepts and creative solutions that can form the basis for future projects.
In this review, we will explore a unique world in which the precise geometry of everyday objects harmoniously blends with picturesque Japanese streets and fantastical spaces. We will also analyze 10th-century fashion trends and the positive aspects of medicine. Delving into these themes opens new horizons, allowing us to better understand the influence of culture, art, and science on our perception of the world around us.
Featured Works: Favourite Things
Rotterdam-based Calvin Sprague has become one of the most notable participants of the current season, presenting his series "Favorite Things". In this series, he seeks to highlight the uniqueness of everyday objects, giving them new meaning. His works, such as a crushed soda can, reveal unexpected angles and shapes to viewers, forcing them to rethink familiar objects. A porthole with a view of Mount Fuji also evokes associations with the display of a modern smartphone, highlighting the connection between art and technology. Note the elegant placement of the sneaker lace, which symbolically directs the foot forward, adding dynamism and movement to the composition.

Dive into the world of Japanese streets through the art of Polina Alekseenko
Polina Alekseenko's new series is a unique combination of photographs of Japanese streets and vibrant animations. Each image may appear simple at first glance, but closer inspection reveals a wealth of fascinating details. For example, one can notice the reflection of the bright sky on the weapons, realistic shadows, folds in the characters' clothing, and subtle blurring that creates a dynamic effect. These elements lend depth and atmosphere to the works, allowing the viewer to immerse themselves in the world the artist has created. Polina Alekseenko's works demonstrate not only a mastery of conveying emotion and movement but also a keen perception of the world around her.
The photographs that form the basis of this series were taken by Nikita Gruzovik, a fanny pack maker. His professionalism and experience in photography allowed him to vividly convey the atmosphere of the Japanese streets that serve as the backdrop for these artistic images. The photographs capture the unique details of Japanese urban life, adding depth and context to the artwork.

Little Wing: Art by Amir Mrzae
Amir Mrzae, a talented artist from Toronto, has presented a unique series of illustrations inspired by the work of renowned comic book cover designer Sachin Teng, known for his visual concepts in the world of games such as Dragon Age. Although certain parallels can be noticed, Mrzae's style is distinguished by its originality and unusual artistic solutions, which makes his work truly unique in contemporary art.
The artist chooses a minimalist approach to the color palette, limiting it to a few bright shades: deep red, calm blue, and soft pink. This style creates an atmosphere of mystery and cosmic perception, especially when the artist experiments with scale in his works. The use of a limited palette allows the viewer to focus on details, creating a unique visual experience and enhancing the emotional load of the works.

A Garden in the City: The Art of Alberto Casagrande
Alberto Casagrande, a talented artist from Milan, presented his unique series of works at the Cascina Nascosta restaurant, which is located in a picturesque park Sempione. Inspired by the concept of the "garden city," Casagrande harmoniously blends elements of urban life with fashion trends of the early 20th century. This exhibition not only demonstrates the artist's artistic vision but also highlights the importance of the interaction between nature and the urban environment, making it relevant to contemporary urban art. The artist's works showcase the contemporary dynamism of urban life, in which men and women move swiftly through the city in original outfits stylized as vegetables and fruits. For example, a woman dressed as an ice cream cone resembles a pineapple, while the man's outfit alludes to a bell. This creative idea creates a unique visual experience, allowing bus passengers to appear as a veritable vegetable garden, adding vibrant color to everyday life. Costumes inspired by natural forms not only stand out against the gray background of everyday life, but also emphasize the individuality of each person.

Illustrations by Merative: Heat in a Medical Context
At the beginning of August, the world got acquainted with new works by the outstanding illustrator Sua Balak from Stuttgart. He created a series of illustrations for the updated corporate identity of Merative, formerly known as IBM Watson Health. These unique images have been added to our collection to highlight their importance and relevance in contemporary design. Sua Balak's work stands out for its originality and depth, making it a significant addition to the Merative brand. While the visual elements may seem standard for a commercial, they gain uniqueness thanks to Balak's choice of subjects. Each illustration captures moments from hospital life: a doctor carefully examining a patient, or a relative visiting a sick person. A mother playing with a child brings warmth and comfort to the cold world of medical facilities, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of home rather than the confines of a hospital. These visual images not only convey care and support but also help make the medical environment more human and accessible to patients and their families.
The color palette predominates in the works, consisting of calming shades of blue, violet, and light blue. Delicate watercolor lines, devoid of harsh black outlines, create a softness and harmony in the illustrations. These elements contribute to an atmosphere of calm and tranquility, making the works particularly appealing to viewers seeking visual aesthetics and an emotional response.
