Música Viva Vic Festival 2022: Musical Event of the Year

From September 14 to 17, 2022, a unique music festival was held in the Spanish city of Vic, bringing together the best performers from all over the world. This festival has become an important platform for music industry professionals both in Catalonia and abroad. The participation of renowned artists and bands attracted a wide audience, creating an atmosphere of creativity and exchange. The event contributed to the development of the region's musical culture and strengthened the bonds between musicians and audiences, making it a key event in the music festival calendar.

Mercat de Música Viva de Vic (MMVV) is an annual festival that transforms the city of Vic into a vibrant musical space. Over four days, the event features performances by both emerging and established musicians on two large stages. MMVV offers a diverse program, including concerts, masterclasses, and artist talks, making it an important platform for musical exchange and cultural development. The festival attracts audiences of all ages and provides a unique opportunity to enjoy live music in an atmospheric setting.

The festival was designed by Quim Marin from Barcelona, offering a unique and memorable style that attracts attention in the urban environment. His approach is based on the harmony of classical aesthetics and contemporary accents. In her work, Marin uses images of birds, combining naturalistic elements with current visual trends. This style not only highlights the beauty of nature but also creates a striking contrast with the surrounding architecture, making the festival a prominent event in the city's cultural life.

The poster design is dominated by gray and pink tones, which are harmoniously combined with bright, acidic green and yellow accents. In contrast, the business cards are designed in more saturated and contrasting colors. The bird images are simplified to minimalist fills, giving them a modern and stylish look. This design approach creates visual appeal and emphasizes the uniqueness of the brand.

Kuim uses the Labil Grotesk font in Regular Alternative, complemented by unconventional characters. This solution gives the design a dynamic and modern look while maintaining overall harmony. Using this font allows you to highlight elements and create a unique style, which is especially important for attracting user attention and improving brand perception.

MTV Music Week 2022: Music Festival in Düsseldorf

From 4 to 12 November 2022, MTV Music Week took place in Düsseldorf, culminating in the grand MTV EMAs ceremony. This event brought together music fans from all over the world and became a significant milestone in the music industry. The participation of renowned artists and unforgettable performances made the event a true celebration for all music lovers. The 2022 MTV EMAs attracted the attention of not only fans but also the media, highlighting the importance of such events in shaping music trends and popular culture.

Augsburg-based designer Sebastian Onufshak developed an original visual concept for the event. His method can be described as modular, allowing him to place basic illustrations on different layers and combine them into unique compositions. This approach not only attracts attention but also creates a multi-layered visual effect that emphasizes the event's theme and enhances the overall experience. Onufshak's work demonstrates innovative thinking and an ability to combine design elements, making his concept particularly interesting for viewers.

In his work, Onufshak uses seven bright colors that do not blend with each other, as well as three fonts: Qvartz, OCR A Std, and Futura. This combination allows him to create expressive yet minimalist, deserted locations where elements, seemingly suspended in space, await their visitors during the music week. The use of clear colors and fonts helps emphasize each element, creating a unique atmosphere and engaging viewers. Onufshak's aesthetic focuses on minimalism, creating an atmosphere of anticipation and harmoniously aligning with the spirit of the event. This design approach emphasizes the uniqueness of each element and provides visual balance that draws attention. The minimalist style allows for a focus on the essentials, creating a clean and clear experience. Onufszak's work becomes more than just a visual design; it becomes an important element that enhances the overall impression of the event.

What is Hook?

Hook is a modern music app and platform designed to connect music fans. The developers approached Geex Arts to create a unique style inspired by the aesthetics of musicians such as Pharrell Williams and Tyler the Creator. The main goal was to create an atmosphere of lightness and happiness, similar to the famous track "Happy". Hook offers users not only access to music, but also the opportunity to interact with like-minded people, share favorite tracks, and discover new musical horizons.

The Hook logo stands out with its original design, which consists of two intertwined "Play" buttons, designed as a Möbius strip. This concept, where the dark side smoothly transitions into a bright lemon color, emphasizes the creative spirit of the app. This unique visual style not only attracts users but also reflects the innovative approach embedded in Hook's functionality.

The color palette of the Hook app is diverse and is not limited to pastel colors. It incorporates vibrant gradients and tie-dye elements, lending a unique and stylish feel. Photos featured in the app are framed in floral frames, evoking images and music, emphasizing Hook's core concept. This design approach not only attracts users but also fosters a harmonious atmosphere conducive to creative processes.

Break_In Festival: A New Generation Music Event

The upcoming Break_In festival promises to be a unique event, although its details are still under wraps. We can appreciate the original design created by Australian designer Jackie Price and a Chinese creator known under the nickname Bao_BB. Their creative approach and visionary vision underscore the festival's uniqueness and build anticipation for the upcoming event. Attendees can expect not only a captivating atmosphere but also a stunning visual experience, which will be a key part of the Break_In concept.

The festival's design reflects a techno aesthetic, using abstract shapes in black and white and vibrant colors. Visual elements include a combination of Latin and hieroglyphic characters, as well as a spacious background in deep black or pure white tones. Festival merch also matches this style and is presented in the form of foil bags. This creates a unique, attention-grabbing atmosphere that underscores the event's concept.

The bilingual logo draws attention through the use of illustrations instead of the traditional underline. These can include glowing bracelets, art objects, or animated effects, allowing organizers to adapt the visual imagery depending on the chosen musical style. This approach not only adds originality but also contributes to the creation of a unique atmosphere that reflects the style of the event. Using creative visual elements in a logo helps differentiate the brand and attract the target audience, which is especially important in the competitive music market.

The project includes an Easter egg for attentive viewers: one of the visualizations features the iconic Arma restaurant. There is no precise information on whether the designers met at this location. However, we hope that in the future, the Break_In event will become one of the events held in this iconic venue.

Whimusical: Immersive Experience in Music and Art

The Whimusical exhibition in Macau offers a unique intersection of music and design. The Chinese region features around 130 works by South Korean artist Lee Jae-min, whose posters are deeply connected with music. Each piece is not only visually appealing but also conveys musical emotion, creating a harmonious interplay between sound and image. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to experience the artist's original approach to creating visual art inspired by music, making this an unforgettable experience for both music and design enthusiasts.

The exhibition, titled Whimusical, combines the word "Whimsical," meaning "whimsical," with the letter "U," symbolizing Lee Jae-min's personal interest in music and his creative imagination. This exhibition is a unique blend of music and artistic expression, reflecting the artist's originality and individuality. Whimusical provides a platform for viewers to immerse themselves in a world of unusual ideas and sounds, experiencing inspiration and new emotions.

The exhibition was designed by Au Chung-hin, founder of Untitled Macao. His creations cleverly intertwine cute and eccentric cartoon characters with musical instruments, vinyl records, and headphones. The characters, decorated in black and green, are surrounded by vibrant colors such as pink, blue, red, and yellow. This unique approach creates an atmosphere that attracts attention and immerses viewers in the world of music and art.

One of the key design features is a subtle retro style, evident in the character designs, musical instruments, and font. This style creates a unique atmosphere within the exhibition, allowing viewers to delve deeper into the world of music and creativity. Retro elements attract attention and evoke nostalgic feelings, enhancing the overall experience of the event and making it more memorable.

The symmetrical design of the posters is achieved by placing the exhibition title and supporting information in separate boxes along the edges. This creates a visually appealing and organized appearance that facilitates better information comprehension. Proper poster design improves their readability and attracts visitors' attention, which is especially important for successful exhibitions.
