These images create a dynamic, representing thoughts that arise chaotically but are organized in a certain order. Rhythmic lines illustrate the logical flow of presentation and the passage of time. "Slow media" emphasizes the quality of every detail, which requires a clear structure. The Night Serif font was chosen for the zine, as it perfectly matches the atmosphere of "Slow Media." Its brightness, smoothness, contrast, and slight sharpness create the necessary mood. I developed a moodboard-based grid consisting of 6 columns and a line spacing of 3 mm. This structure will help set the rhythm of small text blocks and background images, ensuring a harmonious perception of the content.
Trying on mockups
At this stage, you can design a case or publish the images. If your goal is to save the work exclusively in digital format, it will be enough to use images with mockups. However, some errors may only become apparent in print, so to improve your skills, it's recommended to create a proof copy at a print shop. This will give you the opportunity to see how the project looks in real life and identify any potential flaws that might be missed when viewing it on-screen.
When I was working on my first zine, I chose a 14-point font size, and only then realized it was too large, resulting in a work resembling a children's book. Now I more often use a 10-point font size, and at least a 7-8 font size for readability. A 5-point font size can print poorly in a print shop, so it's best not to experiment with it. The correct choice of font size significantly affects the perception of the text and its readability, which is especially important for printed publications.
If the zine dimensions are non-standard, it may be difficult to find a suitable mockup. In this case, the best solution is to create a mockup yourself or print a single copy. This will ensure precise dimensions and allow you to better visualize the final product. Creating your own mockup also gives you the opportunity to experiment with design and materials, which may lead to a more successful result.

One copy of my zine consists of 16 A5 spreads, stapled and printed on standard paper. The cost of such a copy ranges from 500 to 1,000 rubles.
