How motivation influences the learning process
Acquiring new skills while studying is always a serious challenge for a person. It doesn’t matter what we are talking about. University, college, dance studio or sports - studying is difficult almost always and everywhere. Therefore, it often happens that students drop out of school before completing it. In this case, people usually say that they have lost their motivation. And age doesn't matter here—the problem of motivation concerns both teenagers and adults.
— Motivation is one of the key concepts in the educational process, which determines how effectively and successfully we acquire knowledge and move forward, — says Ekaterina Borovets. — Motivation plays an important role in our behavior and allows us to achieve our goals not only in our studies, but also in work and in life in general. Therefore, properly motivating yourself during the learning stage is a direct path to a successful career and well-being.
How does motivation influence the learning process? Firstly, it helps maintain interest in learning and not lose it throughout the course of study. When a person feels that learning is meaningful, they are more likely to continue learning and developing.
Secondly, motivation helps set goals and achieve them. When a person has specific goals, they can effectively plan processes and use resources wisely. This helps you become more confident in your own abilities and achieve greater results.
Thirdly, motivation helps you maintain concentration and not get distracted from your studies. When a person knows that his efforts matter and will lead him to achieving a result, it is easier for him to stay focused and not be distracted by other things.

View difficulties as harbingers of success
The expert believes that a person loses interest in studying when motivation is lost. And it disappears when disappointment comes, the realization of the error of the chosen path or - what happens most often - the first failures.
❝
"Mistakes and failures are absolutely normal in the process of mastering something new."
- As long as everything goes smoothly, we retain the excitement and thirst for new knowledge, and this powerful motivators. But when successes turn into failures, the human psyche turns on a defense mechanism, and we begin to justify ourselves, — Ekaterina shares. — And striving for least resistance, we believe that the problem is not in ourselves, not in insufficient diligence and not in the lack of proper focus, but in the fact that this is simply “not ours.”
The true reason for failure lies in the mismatch between expectations and results. Especially if everything came easy at the beginning and the person achieved success. "Beginners are always lucky" is not just a common phrase, but a reality determined by the psyche. Enthusiasm and optimism are excellent rose-colored glasses that help you see everything in the best light.
— But there is no success without disappointments. The pattern of human behavior during the learning process was first formulated in the last century by the American and Canadian psychologist, expert in social cognitivism Albert Bandura,— the expert says. — In short, every student follows a certain curve: initial success—plateau—failure—complete failure—rise. If a person finds the strength and motivation to go through all these stages, success is inevitable.
It's important to understand and acknowledge that there are different stages in the learning process. This will help you find your footing and motivate yourself even during periods of decline. It's crucial to maintain self-esteem and understand that decline is an inevitable part of recovery, not an indicator of incompetence in your chosen field. It is necessary to maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude, perceiving difficulties as harbingers of future success.
Create an action plan and stick to it.
Creating an action plan helps you take a systematic approach to the educational process and methodically go through all the twists and turns of learning. Try to plan your time for studying and prioritize correctly, separating urgent tasks from those that can wait.
— To understand how to do this, write down all current affairs, goals, and tasks in a column and give them four ratings: urgent, not urgent, important, not important, advises Ekaterina.— Mark urgent and important tasks with the letter A, the rest with the letter B. And those items that receive the AA status will become key for you.

Set local goals and reward yourself for success.
During the learning process, it is important not to try to embrace the immensity. In time management, there is such a concept as ""divide elephants into frogs.". That is, divide one large and unpleasant task into several small ones. It's the same with goals—don't make grand plans, break big goals into smaller ones.
— Don't forget to reward yourself after each successfully completed stage. Allow yourself something you really want after you complete the next training module and pass the test,— advises the career guidance specialist. —It's often the case that success itself is a great reward—the endorphins you get can replace ice cream or a shopping trip.
Ekaterina recommends not being afraid to spur and praise yourself; this is a great way to motivate yourself. Setting goals and applying the knowledge you've gained in practice is also a good way. You can set a goal of getting your first freelance project before you even get your diploma. Once you achieve this, your desire to learn will naturally increase. After all, improving your skills and creating a portfolio is a direct path to new, more expensive orders.
If it's study, then only study.
Lack of focus seriously interferes with learning. If a person is distracted by social media, watching a TV series while studying, or chatting with someone, then the material will be poorly remembered and efforts will not lead to results. And here it is important to find the strength to remove everything that distracts. And then analyze the results. You will be surprised how much your effectiveness in the learning process increases.

Don't study too hard.
If you feel like studying has become completely unbearable, then don't study too hard. This can only do harm. Put off studying and do other things. But don't forget that putting something off and not doing it are not the same thing.
— Don't wear out your body and mind with insufficient rest. Remember that in both studies and work, a person can only be effective when their resources are properly restored and they have the strength to overcome obstacles, the expert reminds. Lack of sleep and overload lead to information not being absorbed or the student abandoning their studies. Therefore, don't forget to take good care of your body, and it will reciprocate.
Seek support
During your studies, it is important to communicate with other students and teachers. Don't be afraid to ask questions. The career guidance specialist advises exchanging experiences, including on finding motivation. Visit thematic forums, don't avoid study groups and chats, which are designed for communication and support. All this helps in studying and sets the mood for the process.
— Don't forget to read books, study biographies, and be inspired by the successes of others. Believe me, many successful people had much more modest chances at the start than you. Sometimes reading biographies helps find inspiration and gain new strength. It really works. And most importantly, remember that education is an investment in the future. Everyone who undergoes training has a great opportunity to change their life, — sums up Ekaterina Borovets.
