Learn MoreArmored Core is a game series that has maintained its niche and cult reputation over the years. Since its debut in 1997, several main installments and numerous spin-offs have been released, along with the striking robotic imagery that has become the franchise's hallmark. However, Armored Core was largely unknown outside of Japan. It wasn't until the sixth installment that the series gained mainstream attention, thanks to the immense popularity of Elden Ring and the positive reputation of FromSoftware. This new game brought fresh interest to the franchise and opened it up to a new audience, earning it long-awaited recognition. Fires of Rubicon shares similarities with Dark Souls, as it's easy to lose a life and boss battles can take hours of real-time. The overarching plot is presented through hints. However, Armored Core 6 offers many more unique elements that set it apart from other games in the genre. Every aspect, from combat mechanics to character customization, creates a unique experience for players, making the game not only challenging but also engaging.

The player controls a huge robot tens of meters high, which is almost always in A dominant position. Most enemy machines pose no serious threat to your mech. The protagonist leaves behind flaming debris and destroyed buildings. Instead of moving slowly and carefully, he makes swift leaps to new battles. Missions in Armored Core 6 rarely exceed 10 minutes, which perfectly highlights the power and effectiveness of the protagonist. This dynamic nature makes the game exciting and allows the player to feel the full force of their robot in battle. One of the key features of Fires of Rubicon is the scale of its locations. In Armored Core 6, players encounter vast zones that require the robot to travel tens of kilometers using jet propulsion. After a few seconds of flight, you find yourself in the very center of the battle, destroying generators or giant helicopters. To successfully master the game, you need to develop your reaction speed and adapt to the fast pace of battles. Over time, even the most terrifying opponents, such as fire bulldozers and spaceships, cease to inspire fear. Every problem can be solved with the right weapon and patience. Even the most advanced and dangerous robots will eventually find themselves under your mech.
Armored Core 6 offers players not only challenging challenges but also the opportunity to demonstrate their ingenuity. The game saves progress at checkpoints, allowing you to change your loadout after your character's death. If you don't have the right armor or grenade launcher, you can return to unfinished or previously completed orders for additional resources. This gives you the opportunity to improve your equipment and adapt to different gameplay situations, making the process even more engaging and strategic.
Customization in Fires of Rubicon is incredibly intuitive and accessible. When I encountered difficulties on yet another boss, a build consisting of two shotguns and two laser rifles helped me out. By the end of the game, I was able to transform my light robot into a powerful tank with heavy armor and treads. This flexibility makes the Armored Core 6 a great choice even for those who prefer less complex gaming titles.

The plot of the game Armored Core 6 is no less impressive than the gameplay, Immersing the player in the world of corporate struggle for resources on the planet Rubicon-6, this global narrative is reminiscent of Dune, which also features a unique creature—a metallic sandworm. However, Armored Core 6's scenario offers a more complex and cynical view of the conflict. From the very beginning, the protagonist, known as Raven, accepts orders from all sides of the conflict, without considering the moral aspects of his actions. Only towards the end of the game is the player given the opportunity to choose a side, but even this choice is not without ambiguity.
In addition to the corporate confrontation, this game also reveals the personal tragedy of a weak-willed mercenary, who is merely expendable to his mysterious clients. The protagonist, Raven, finds himself in a difficult situation, balancing orders with an inner voice that urges him to help Rubicon-6 rid itself of the invaders. The plot is conveyed through voiceover briefings, and throughout the game, the player does not encounter a single human face. Nevertheless, this doesn't prevent the viewer from becoming emotionally attached to the characters and empathizing with their actions. It's not just the stern bosses who prove tragic, but also the energetic mercenaries with whom Raven carries out missions. This game demonstrates how personal dramas and corporate conflicts intertwine to create a rich and engaging gaming experience.

FromSoftware's game offers a surprisingly touching and profound story. It can be completed in 12 hours, but the stakes become higher with each hour of gameplay. Players quickly find themselves at the center of events, where a mercenary makes decisions that could change the fate of an entire planet. This dynamic story keeps you on edge and forces you to consider the consequences of every choice.
Armored Core 6 offers a stunning immersion thanks to high-quality graphics, sound, voice acting, and an intuitive interface. All the game's elements come together to create a unique gaming experience. This is another outstanding work from FromSoftware, one that will make you want to play again and again. The success of Armored Core 6, especially given the excellent sales of Fires of Rubicon, gives hope that the seventh installment will be even more ambitious and sophisticated. The Armored Core series deserves the same popularity as Dark Souls, and with each new release, it proves its worth in the world of video games.
